Based on lap time data from other sites, the Ferrari was running very close to the same pace as the Merc, even after FA passed Hamilton. So, even if he had been front row, the odds are that Seb would have driven away from him too. Alonso also had several DRS laps more than Vettel, so there were gains there that were not real. This was just Sebs day. Alonso did an outstanding job of it though, well played.

The FERRARI was as fast as the RB9 of Vettel in the race.
Mercedes has used CI brakes on Lulu's car in Canada while they retained Brembo on Rosberg's, and that means that Mercedes would had to work on fine tuning two different sets of aero and set ups.
Mercedes sacrificed Rosberg to let Lulu build a lead/pull away, that was the only way that Mercedes could hang on to 2nd or 3rd, it did not work perfectly as they lost 2nd but still helped them take 3rd.
And for anybody being in doubt Lulu's engineer said “Rosberg is blocking Alonso and Weber.

rob. sutil never blocked lulu. lulu was on the radio complaining before he even got near sutil. anyway, there is no love lost between these two anymore.

sunny. lulu was reported to be browned off with nico beating him. and has blamed "stuff on my mind" for his dour manner during and after the race. his record must have bombed!

In Spain and Monaco both WO4 were using Brembo brake discs pads and callipers as I said over here then.
Technically speaking different brakes (make) will involve a different air cooling needs, ducts and so on, but aero set up and so car set up as a whole will have to be altered to suit, all that means the team will have to embark on two separate paths which is never preferred.

I find it pretty hard to believe that the different brake systems, integrated inside the wheel would affect the placement of a wheel brake duct. Merc should already have a system for gauging different volumes/flows of input for different demands. If anything Lewis should have been on the backfoot working with an 'unplanned' system. So with all due respect 107SS that proposition is bunk. Especially when teams are putting 'tape' on the duct to control flow, lolz.

Yeah I dont think that was a factor at all. If anything the rumors of Nico spilling the beans with Vettel had a bigger impact on Nico's setup/investment at Canada, and who could blame Mercedes, really.
