He simply doesnt deserve it - he has done NOTHING impressive in a quarter decade in F1 - long past the point when stars of the past have shown their star potential. He is a b-grade at best - probably not even Webber standard let alone vettel. Would be a travesty to hand the best car in the world to such an unworthy recipient. For godsake Horner do something just for once in your life and put someone in who has earned it - di Resta for example. Or better yet Alonso - and make it a season that goes down in the history books like 1988 when McLaren had the two best drivers of all time! Get some damn perspective!

No doubt Kimi enjoys the racing as a adrenelin fix however implores the spotlight and sponsorship responsibilites which RBR encourage.

For that reason I really don't see Kimi wishing to be involved with RBR although he would be a great asset to the team.

Is Ricciardo up to standard. With a touch more experience and a decent set of wheels I think so.

JEV is to erratic and lacks consistency.

@Biggerthinking1 - we get it, you're in love with di Resta.

Can you please give up on this "quarter decade" nonsense? For a start, who says that? And in any case, like I explained in a previous comment, it's wrong - Ricciardo has been an F1 race driver for under 2 years, half a year of which was in an HRT. How many points would you have expected you're beloved di Resta to score in an HRT, for comparative purposes?

Ricciardo has been in a Torro Rosso for one and a third seasons which, up until recently, has been a very long way off the relative performance of the Torro Rosso Vettel won in (which was a Red Bull chassis).
