As has been rumoured in World Series by Renault circles since 'winter' testing began, Carlin Motorsport has signed Red Bull Junior drivers Mikhail Aleshin and Colin Fleming for its 2006 campaign.

Having missed out on a potential GP2 Series slot, the crack British team has completed the first Russian-American line-up in motorsport history by pairing talented 18-year old Aleshin will 21-year old Fleming for its second season in the World Series. The two drivers tested together throughout the recent outings in France and Spain, and will continue their preparations when testing recommences early in the New Year.

"We are very pleased to announce our Renault driver line-up for next year as it is not only a very unusual combination of East meets West, but we also believe it's a very competitive line-up which should hopefully see us compete for the 2006 title," insisted team boss Trevor Carlin, who ran race winners Will Power and Andreas Zuber in 2005, "Both Mikhail and Colin have shown real potential and maturity in the pre-season tests and we are looking forward to seeing them racing."
