Jason Tahinci will make his World Series by Renault debut in front of his home fans when the championship visits the Istanbul Autodrom next weekend.
Despite struggling in the GP2 Series this season, the Formula Renault graduate will partner Enrico Toccacelo at the Eurointernational team for the third round of the World Series, becoming the Italian's third team-mate in as many race weekends, after Pascal Kochem and Mehdi Bennani. No doubt assisted by his father's position at the head of Turkish motorsport, Tahinci's ride is expected to be a one-off as he concentrates on GP2 for the rest of the year.
Tahinci will not have a chance to test the World Series car before practice begins next Friday, but will hope to avoid Benanni's fate of not qualifying for either of the weekend's two races. The Moroccan stepped in for Kochem at short notice in Monaco, but failed to make the cut for the single race there.
