The World Series by Renault line-up continues to evolve, most notably again at Eurointernational, but with possible cracks beginning to show elsewhere ahead of the next round, at Misano, next weekend.

Having run Mehdi Bennani and Jason Tahinci alongside Enrico Toccacelo in Monaco and Turkey respectively, Carlos Iaconelli returns to the World Series with Eurointernational for the series' Italian round.

The 19-year old Brazilian raced at the final round of 2005, at Monza, with and appeared to be bound for a return with the Austrian team this year, until it transpired that the more experienced Eric Salignon was still on the sidelines with a couple of weeks to go to the opening race. Iaconelli duly stepped back, contesting the opening rounds of the Spanish F3 series, but will now return to face Interwetten and Salignon as Eurointernational boss Antonio Ferrari attempts to find a settled line-up.

Ironically, however, doubt has now been cast over Toccacelo, who has not lived up to the promise he showed in 2005, and failed to make the cut at Monaco in May.

Having found himself a late berth in the series when Tor Graves decided he wasn't up to the standard, the Italian was hoping top find both the form and the sponsorship to continue beyond the opening three rounds, but his place at Misano remains in doubt with one week remaining. While hopeful of retaining his place on the WS grid, Toccacelo admitted to that he would continue to explore possibilities in the USA. Should a compromise with Eurointernational not be found, Bennani or first round incumbent Pascal Kochem could return to partner Iaconelli next weekend.

Meanwhile, over at Cram Competition, it appears that Milos Pavlovic may be missing from the Misano paddock, having - like Carlin's Colin Fleming - decided that his results to date did not warrant any further participation. Unlike at Carlin, where F3 frontrunner Sebastien Vettel steps in for Fleming - no replacement has yet been named to partner Ben Hanley at Cram.
