Eurointernational will have its fifth new driver in as many World Series by Renault meetings, after Enrico Toccacelo announced that he was leaving the championship to pursue other interests.
The 2004 F3000 runner-up had hinted prior to the previous round at Misano that he is looking towards a move to Champ Car World Series, and the Italian's departure now seemingly frees him to secure a drive on the other side of the Atlantic.
Eurointernational, which has so far struggled to fill the second seat in the team this year, was hoping to field its first unchanged driver line-up of the year at Spa-Francorchamps after Misano stand-in Carlos Iaconelli was confirmed for the Belgian race, but has now acquired the services of Milos Pavlovic, the Serbian side-stepping from Cram just weeks after he was thought to have secured his future with the team to see out the rest of the year.
Pavlovic's berth at Cram has been subsequently filled by 18-year old Pasquale di Sabatino, who makes the substantial leap from Italian Formula Renault 2.0. Although he was being groomed for a possible World Series spot in 2007, di Sabatino has been fast-tracked into the Cram seat to join Misano podium winner Ben Hanley.
"The World Series by Renault was in my plans for 2007," di Sabatino told Italiaracing.net
, "An opportunity has been created in order for me to make the category jump, among other things with one of the best Italian teams, which is Cram. Therefore, we decided not to lose it."
Together with the announcement that Marco Bonanomi will be joining Tech 1, the number of drivers hailing from Italy has been raised to five, the duo joining Alessandro Bonetti, Matteo Meneghello and Davide Valsecchi, while Christian Montanari hails from San Marino.
