WS: Pilet joins Tech 1 for Donington.

Despite not having one of the supposedly available seats ahead of the World Series by Renault resumption at Donington Park this weekend, Tech 1 Racing will feature a changed line-up, with Patrick Pilet joining Ryo Fukuda.

The Frenchman was one of two pilots to walk out on GD Racing ahead of the last round, and appeared to be out of the picture with regard to World Series rides, but has signed a deal with Simon Abadie's team to replace Marco Bonanomi alongside Fukuda for the British round. Team and driver got to know each other at a test session at Magny-Cours last weekend, leaving first year owner Abadie confident of a solid showing at Donington.

"Everything went well, and I'm confident that we can rely on Patrick to do a good job for us this weekend," the Frenchman said, noting that he hoped his team could achieve its aim of reaching the podium in the remaining rounds.
