I've been looking forward to driving a diesel powered vehicle for some time now. I've been thinking that there would be a benefit and fuel economy tops the list here. A conservative calculation is 60% increase in MPG. At most the amount I would have to pay over the standard grade gasoline is 18% more per gallon of fuel. ( My Mazda 6 gives me 25 MPG. I used 28 MPG that I know I can eak out of a Honda Accord. I scaled back to 45MPG.) That's impresive. A good ride is what I am looking for.
I also like the idea of making diesel from vegetable oi rather than producing ethanol. Both methods require use of energy to produce. I am not convinced that ethanol has tha many benefits.
