Hunter-Reay breaks through at Glen.

Rahal Letterman Racing's Ryan Hunter-Reay survived a chaotic end to the Camping World Grand Prix at Watkins Glen to claim his first IndyCar Series victory.

 1 people agree.

Way too many full course yellow flags in racing series here in the US...
Should consider using more local yellows...
Just makes one wonder that racing here is only for entertaimnet...

I thought the same thing. And became vocal at the television for it too.

The only people who really know what a local yellow is seem to be the SCCA and ALMS. Every other series, I'm convinced, learned to drop a full course yellow anytime there's an errant eyelash on the circuit. CART, during its prime, understood that too. Then they got stupid.

What gets me is that the whole situation(s) could be avoided by having more tow trucks or cranes at more turn stations. That's the best thing that F1 does. Heck, even SCCA puts out a white flag at the corners leading up to where the yellow is if they need to get a tow truck on the track, and don't throw the full-course until they absolutely have to.
