Brundle slams FIA.

Brundle slams FIA.

Martin Brundle has hit out at the FIA following confirmation on Friday that the sports governing body is to start legal proceedings against The Sunday Times following its reporting into the F1 spying saga.

It is nice to know that someone in the public eye has enough guts and passion to stand up for free speach and integrity. The FIA has set itself up as judge, jury and executioner, and has clearly shown its lack of good judgement, impartiality and plain common sense. Martin Brundle has pointed out these failures and they are now stamping their feet like spoilt children.
Well done Martin.

Martin's column, just goes to prove that Mr Max "Maclaren Witch-Hunt" Mosley, WMSC & the FIA are only in F1 for one reason, themselves.
They are unable to provide a balanced and unbiased governning of F1, they only phold the rules of the sport when it suits them.
In the course of the year they have: sanctioned the use of an illegal car in Australia, punished one team for "spying" & decided not to do the same to another team in the same position. Will allow all the teams to view confidential schematics of another team to the detriment of that team.
Well done Mr Mosley & the FIA, you have destroyed the credability of F1 in a single, all because of you self proclaimed bias towards one team.

Good for Martin! This is a man who has always spoken good sense. His comments are sorely needed to help reign in the FIA's dictatorial stance on F1. They are a law unto themselves and are ruining the sport that so many of us used to enjoy. If they continue this way, it will be the end of F1.

And all this comes from a bloke that has no reason to support any team, he just speaks the truth because he can see what the sport is turning into. He has said no different to others within the sport. It won't be long before the rest of the teams like red bull and bmw work out that you are either in the in club or not. All this proves is if you go against the FIA you will be punished. read it on http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3261_2955054,00.html. I hope this goes to court as Max will not have the last word.

I'm sure the guys at Crash are keen to point out that views expresssed within these news comments are the ones of their users and not their own, don't want our favourite motorsport website being sued do we now!!!

I am in total agreement with Martin Brundle, this will no doubt flare up into a rather unpleasant issue, especially if the FIA are trying to contol the media in any way, it is as if they feel they are above the law!

Time will tell, but they do seem to get away with double standards on many levels, it'll be an interesting confrontation.

Let's hope a few more high profile people within the sport back up Martin Brundle on this one.
Good on him he has my support

Martin.... I have always found your coverage written or verbal on Tv or newspaper to be non biased, without favour etc etc, plus its always nice to hear from someone who has been there and done it (to a high standard too) . When commentating...... people think they can commentate, but its people like yourself that make it look easy, (thats the secret) Keep up the good work.

Where will the FIA stop in what appears to be a succession of actions which the fans of the sport are finding it increasingly hard to understand? I have posted constructive criticism of the FIA on this website in the past but now feel reluctant to do so. Is free speach being restricted?

Martin Brundle is to be applauded from here to the ends of the earth for standing up and committing to paper, be it electronic or conventional what everyone within Formula one are thinking and saying, well done Martin!

You've not only gone up in my estimation but I would suggest in everyone's estimation who follow Formula One, the outrageous and despicable handling of these issues by the FIA is fast becomming an open joke across many other sports, they are not fit to preside and rule over anything, they are an absolute disgrace and Max Mosley should be removed with immediate effect, surely even BCE can't support the FIA afer these latest developments.

Put your house in order Bernie!

Dear David Lea,

Please continue to post constructive and well written comments on Crash.Net as it's a great platform for us as motorsport enthusiasts and fans out there to express our views.

I agree with you all, Martin has gone up massively in everyone's estimation, he may not have been the world's best F1 driver but he can still claim to be one of the very best as he reached the F1 grid under his own steam, no financial backing from others or shortcuts, therefore he knows what he's talking about and now as a journalist/commentator is about the best we've had for years in F1.

How can Max Mosley and the FIA get away with it, it is them who are bringing our sport into disrepute!

Good on you Martin. If the FIA want to make decisions based on politics then they must be prepared to take the criticism that will come from it. If they restrict your work in any way next season then sue them back - you must have the right to express your views, be it in favour or against the governing body. And I go as far as saying that if you are not on the ITV grid walk next season because of this then I will stop watching all together - getting tired of our sport being hijacked by people like Max Mosley, with their own political and financial agendas.

Be careful what you state at crash...otherwise you might find the FIA on your doorstep the next day with a personal invitation for you to the court ;)

At last someone in the media has had the balls to speak out against the FIA,Mosley, Ecclestone,Ferrari incestuous relationship. Well done Martin for saying what most unbiased motor sport enthusiasts have known for ages. F1 is corrupt beyond belief and the best way we as supporters can get it to clean up it's act, is to stop supporting it until it can prove it is run by unbiased people who treat everyone within the sport equally. Over the last few months some of the decisions taken and biased comments made by the people running this sport would have had them sacked by any other organisation. We as supporters pay these peoples unbelievably high salaries, stop supporting and stop their income

The FIA will not tolerate any dissent, from anyone, even from former drivers (Stewart & Brundle). If you dare to say anything against them, they will either try to trash your reputation, or sue.

To who are the FIA answerable?

Well done Martin but somehow I can't see the FIA changing their mind even though the Renault decision is a farce.

Great. Straight, honest, speaking by a fellow Norfolkman. He has my full support. Something odd is going on wth Mr Moseley and the FIA. Mr Moseley is getting more and more like M Balestre every year. Time for him to hand on the reigns. Eight years for a USA president is enough, and it should be the same for an FIA president.
