Mallya: No Indian driver good enough for us yet.

Mallya: No Indian driver good enough for us yet.

Vijay Mallya has explained the rationale behind his driver choice for Force India's debut Formula 1 campaign in 2008, after his newly-unveiled line-up featured no drivers from the team's home country.

2 people agree.  3 people disagree.

I wonder what AK is going to say about this.

At this moment I have to say that Mallya is right and shows that he is not going to let his heart rule his head with regards to successfully running Force India F1. We should have all known that anyway as Mallya is an incredibly successful guy who knows how to make tough decisions in the pursuit of success. Yes, too bad no Indian driver in the team but it's the way to go at this stage. Fisi is a great development driver and excels in smaller teams. As for Sutil, this season will really show if he is a force to be reckoned with in the future. Klien can count himself the most unlucky.

Chandhok is the future, not the present!

we this is a total ***** i agree that mallya has taken of taking fisichela over indian drivers like karthikeyan or karun chandhok......but common he cannot tel that no indian driver is good enough...i wont agree with this.....i agree with the fact that narain was scrapy in jordan sufering a lot of mechanical errors...but he has improved like anything after his testing stint with wiliams...he is very composed and an able driver now...his A1 races shows how much complete driver he has become..just i want mallya to just respect people like narain a bit more.......because karthikeyan only brought f1 to india......

Vijay Mallya has let his head rule his heart... so good for him.
GF is almost at the end of his F1 career and whilst I think that he can bring a lot of experience to the team in the short term there is no way he figures in the long term there has to be a reason that ALL the top teams have overlooked him every time, yes I know he drove for Renault /Benetton but only ever as a number 2 or when the team was suffering a barren period. As for Narain Karthikeyan, don't rate him never have and just because a driver does well in the lower formulae doesn't automatically mean they can cut the mustard in F1.

wel wel..i dont agree with mallya...he has taken a good decision of putting fisichella.but he cant say narain karthikeyan long far off.nd delete him like that.narain was although erratic in jordan in 2005..but has since improved a lot after his wiliams testing role..he brought india its first a1 win in china..nd mind you the indian car isnot one of the best cars in a1 because indian team prior to china race still had sponsorship problems and lacked financial resources.and still karthikeyan managed a win.narain has already won accolades from f1 experts like fitipaldi, chris godwin, steve slater, trevor carlin, and jordan himself.thats not a joke after all.mallya is no one infront of these people

well kiran good for you if you think that way, but karthikeyan is a far more mature driver and having won his 1st a1gp race with not so good a car( one could make out the slippin slidin and understeer) he should have been given a look in or a test atleast! one argues he was chucked out by jordan in just 1 year.. but i would say thats far more better than drivers like liuzzi and fisi, who got to start p wid big teams like redbull and faded out of their respective teams . when did liuzzi last win a race in anything? so whats mallya trying to point out when he says narain has just won a single race, how ironic.. had it been gp2 he would have said otherwise! he is just tryn to sel d team abroad

in a poll conducted by the highly regarded TIMES OF INDIA, askin reader wether they felt if an indian driver is essential for force india f1 team, 68% of the voters said yes and replied in the affirmative.

while a poll by DNA a respected news agency showed narain karthikeyan as the 5th most voted for as the sportsperson of the year 2007 ahead of karun chandok and other highly popular cricket stars.

just waitin for TATA to buy jaguar and have narain drive it onto f1 racing grid again !

mallya...lmfao!! watta blunder!
