Race Reactions - Australian Grand Prix.

"I feel fantastic – what a dream start to the season and my championship challenge..." - Lewis Hamilton.

Why is it that it always has to be Lewis Hamilton to give an idiotic, self-centred, bulls.hit interview like this.

All the others' are down to earth statements, his are as usual, me, me, me and allways me. When is this guy going to grow up and stop looking at the fairey tale mirror trying to persuade himself that he is the fairer of them all (sic).

Ehh okay, what are you on? There's nothing unusual about that interview! I agree that he does come across as a bit full of himself every now and then, but this is nothing. Like him or not, he did dominate the race. So what is he supposed to say?

You can try to take comfort in the fact that Heikki showed good race pace and might be able to challenge LH proper given time. Great race anyway, bit too many DNFs but lots of entertainment going on behind Lewis Stoner! Can't remember the last time I saw the race leader on cam fewer times... Now bring on next week!

The McLarens showed that they are the most reliable cars, being the only two cars from the same team that finished the race. Lewis led from pole in a race that was relatively uneventful for him being in the front and away from the maddening crowd behind him. Well done for a good drive without TC etc.

The Ferraris proved to be the worst in both reliability and the ability of both drivers to control their cars. We expected better.

Heidfeld and Rosberg finished 2nd and 3rd at the expense of Kubica, Massa, and Trulli who dropped out and of Heiki who dropped from 3rd on the grid to 5th place, possibly because of his pit stop strategy change.

Fernando showed Heiki how to drive.......

.....Fernando showed Heiki how to drive the Renault, improving his position from 11th on the grid to 4th in the race, overtaking the Finn twice and wiping the sneer of acute glee and satisfaction from Ron Dennis's face. Well done Fernando as well.

The major dissappointment in this race was Barrichello, who after a totally uncordinated, pit lane crew shambles that let him go with the fuel hose still in place, did the same mistake as last year, exiting the pit lane under red light conditions and getting penalised. Stupid all round.

Lack of TC and other driver aids seperated the men from the boys in most instances and having only 7 cars finishing the race showed that it was not easy.

I bet all those bigoted Spaniards switched off before the end... lol.

Well done to all the drivers who finished the race unscathed and showed their calmness and control in the heat of a formula one race. Lewis did his job proficiently which is expected given the tools he has to work with and well done McLaren for preparing two excellent race cars.

In contrast Ferrari appear to be in a spot of bother, although it is probably too early to judge after only one race but the car appears brittle and the drivers undisciplined.

Roll on next week.

Really interesting indeed.
I hoped for a KR voctory, but will have to wait till next week...

As a french canadian, i'm more than happy with Bourdais performances.
But, as is often the case, the first round was a little bit chaotic, for the enjoyment of us all.
If what we saw today in term of action is what we can expect from the whole season, we are in for a good one.
