good drive by most. not good for massa really doesnt need that.
Lewis did ok, he was held up at the pit, but was only 10 secs he needed to also do the business on the circuit but was unable to have a run at anyone.
His biggest problem is, and he has been doing it since his first ever f1 race is that he constantly locks his front brakes up. it destroy the tyres. it did him at turkey and at china. one where he had a puncher the other his race being blown by shot tyre, then later skidding off. its something mclaren need to look at, because with the new rules today it became even more obvious. lucky for him we have not got 05 rules of single tyre cos it would cost him, like kimi at nurberg.

Good race by KR, never put a foot wrong. Another excellent performance by Kubica too. Hamilton did what he could I guess, could of maybe had 4th but second stop was also slow.
Again though we see the problem with fast cars getting stuck behind slow cars as the are way to areo dependent. Roll on 2009. Cars can hopefully run closer and will look better too.
foo atari, again i agree with you, must be something in the air! pity about massa. it will be interesting to see if it was his fault or not. he has speed but needs to show consistency. great for toyota. pity glock taken off by rosberg. LH displayed a lack of greatness today. just a top midfield runner. any idea how he lost time in pits yet still ended up just behind webber?? where did webber lose 10 secs????
webber got badly held up by back markers i think, a remember seeing a super aguri in his way. plus was slower than lewis

A lot of good drives today. Kimi was all that was expected of him in this race... very steady and composed. Solid drives from Kubica and Heikki too. Good to see Trulli and Toyota out there finally. Webber did well keeping Lewis off. Lewis was pretty tame.. he's got talent but he's got to learn how to be kinder to his tires and brakes. Good start though.
I don't think Massa's ready to drive that Ferrari. He suffers from too many concentration lapses. While most drivers will have those things happen at one time or another, FM's offs are happening with at an increasing frequency. I'm sure Ferrari's not blind to it. He's got to get it together.

I said after last week massa would be even more erratic without TC. But ferrari wont have to worry about that because Alonso will be in that seat next year . Poor to see faster cars get held up by slower cars (once again) but i agree roll on 2009 when all these aerodynamics pieces are gone and also the cars will look better. Persnally i think the BMWs are the ugliest cars out there!!!!!

I don't recall Schumi having such trouble coming through the field with a faster car, despite the aerodynamic problems. As rich ard said LH is just a top midfield runner.

i think massa staying at ferrari has been one of the reason why todt has been fired.
"Poor to see faster cars get held up by slower cars"
I'd say it's poor to see drivers in faster cars not being able to use their advantage.

Great drive by Raikkonen - calm and composed - but Kubica was by far the driver of the day. Excellent drive to finish 2nd and be comfortably the quickest thing behind the Ferraris over a race distance on a weekend where Ferraru trounced everyone. Kovalainen also impressed me, as did Trulli. The top 4 were very deserving.
Hamilton was unlucky - although I think this race may have shown up that he needs to improve his strategic nous as those soft tyres clearly weren't the best today, so it was quite a wasted middle stint beyond what happened in the pits. Heidfeld was badly hobbled this weekend too. Basically everyone who did well in Oz struggled!

I think Trulli did amazingly well today. His team got on the radio with 9 laps to go and he really lifted his game. How many drivers can do that? I don't see it Lewis failing, I saw at as Jarno peforming.
Massa is the same Massa pre traction control. He made lots of mistakes in the previous era too. Infact, many people were suprised when he landed the Ferrari test role I remember.
Much more composed drive by Kimi today. And good job by Kovy and Kubica. The Mclarens were as quick as Kimi once they were in clear air, but Lewis and his team really need to work on thier tyre selection.

even in them old days at sauber he still had traction control, but was very wild indeed. sawwing away at wheel

Some people might like to claim that Webber held up Hamilton and Alonso but the truth is that whenever either driver got close, they would lock a brake or overstress their tyres and fall back. Alonso in particular was unable to chase him down towards the end. Webber was consistent and drove well under pressure. The car was slow in a straight line but great through the slower corners.
I know, bashing Massa is so easy it's almost boring at the moment, but here's a thought: To those who say that LH is a choker - imagine what Massa would drive like in the same situation...
Oh and yes, brilliant race from ISMANNEN. Just as flawless as LH's was @ Oz, but at least LH's Malyasia race was less of a disaster than Kimi's Oz race. Thus McL still hold the upper hand. And also, if Ferrari continue to have reliability issues, McL don't need to be quicker - or even as quick - to take the WC.

I have to admit that Massa's performance yesterday definitely ranks up there on the choke list along with Loud Lewis' performances in China and Brazil last year. Idiotic and unnecessary mistakes.
LH's win in Australia was easier because he started from pole. Kimi had to work for it today by keeping his cool on the opening laps and putting together some real fast laps before he went in for his pit stop. They both deserved their wins.
McLaren holds the upperhand because of very weak performances from Massa in the opening races. He will be out to redeem himself though.... well, that is if he still gets a chance to do so.
The season is wide open to a good number of drivers so keep watching.

Is it me? Can someone please explain to me what happened during Webbers and Hamiltons pit stops??? Stuffed if I can figure it out. @ the first stop Webber's in front of Hamilton by approx 1 sec. Webber does his top in around 8 sec. The Hamilton comes in stuffs up his stop which was approx 18-19 sec. and comes out just behind Webber again??? Second stop Webber still in front by approx 1 sec. does approx 8 sec stop.... then Hamilton pits does a stop similar approx 8 sec. then rejoins the length of the straight in front of Webber?
I understand all to well how a fast in and out lap can gain a second or three, also the traffic factor but stuffed if I can see how Hamilton made up the time.
