Niki Lauda has sharply criticised Lewis Hamilton's form in the 2008 Formula 1 World Championship so far – especially his calamitous performance in Bahrain – and insisted the young Briton is putting too much pressure on himself in his bid to claim the crown.
What a classic, this is the bloke that constantly stuck up for Hamilton and slagged off Alonso last year and this was excellent:
"I thought he would get better this year, but he has got worse. He is in pretty bad shape"
Indeed he has got worse! the honeymoon is over! give it up Hamilton Kovy's gonna getcha. forza ferrari!

I think that the team is suffering because it hasn't got an experienced driver, capable of sorting a car for them - hence they are going backwards at the moment. I remember in Malaysia Lewis said that they'd made some changes but 'gone the wrong way' and if I remember correctly that's exactly what happened at Silverstone last year as well. A lot of people say that Hamilton lost the championship in China and Brazil last year but I thought that the big mistake was made in Germany when he had had the lucky break and been pulled out of the gravel - he had the chance to take some points that weekend but made the daft decision to go into the pits and fit dry tyres.

Ouch! He has a bad race and all of a sudden Lewis is getting worse as a driver? Everyone has bad races - Kimi and Massa have had a bad one each this year themselves! True Bahrain was calamatous but I think that just betrayed him as inexperienced, which he still is when placed in a pressure situation such as that. I suppose if you haven't learnt your way up the grid, then its probably tougher to react strategically. Just two races ago the same people were lauding him for his perfect drive in Australia - you don't just change like that in 2 races!

Bad 2 races in a row actually! In malaysia he got out qualified by Heikki with a heavier fuel load and also came 5th to heikki's podium.
I always said if Heikki and Hamilton got stuck in behind the front and on the fringes of midfield then Heikki would have the advantage and if we're fighting at the front Hamilton would lead and the theory is proving correct so far.

I'dont really agree with TIA. In Malaysia with both Hamilton & Kovalinen back in 8th & 9th on the grid, which one was in about 5th by the first lap ?. It was Hamilton. He had already passed Kovalinen and was faster. It was only the pitstop wheel gun problem that cost Hamilton the time and then he came out behind Webber.
In Bahrain last year Alonso was 14 sec behind the winner, having struggled. Yet Kovalinen was 26 sec behind this year - why?.

Flat spotted tyre lost about 10sec throughout the race for Heikki. But last year massa was pressured by Hamilton all race and also had a fresh engine so this year's performance was even better for ferrari.
Hamilton in Malaysia got a better start was faster due to lower fuel level in the race, Heikki deserved the podium.

erm errorxp what do you mean exactly by your comment?
So you seriously think hamilton will win the Spanish GP? I tell ya if it's dry the ferraris will scamper off in the distance with their new radical nose and a fresh engine, mclaren will be lucky if they beat BMW, also hamilton would be lucky to beat Kovalainen, the critics will come down hard on your golden boy hard after then next race if Hamilton fails to make the podium and it's a possibility.

Hamilton himself is creating the hating .... Ask Fisichella, after more than 10 years in F1, he finds himself fighting for 12th position with Lewis and when he finaly overtake him, Lewis show the finger .... LH must think he is at his dad's backyard playing with other school kids ...
That finger was the sadest thing of all weekend

I really hope Lewis can regroup, if only to confound the appalling nastiness towards him displayed on the F1 forums. Anyone would think Lewis was a serial killer the way he is slandered. He's a young man with a lot of pressure on his shoulders, but he has already proven himself in the the F1 feeder categories and in his astounding performance last year. Let's hope he gets his head together and shows the world that he's a winner. Good luck Lewis.

So Calvin, to honestly criticize Hamilton is "hate" now? How Orwellian.

Jonov, you have been a member of this forum long enough to have read some of the petty, spiteful and bitter comments made on here whenever hamiltons name has cropped up,which is why Calvin's comment was absolutely correct!I am not sure what you mean by Orwellian?

Tealeaf don't be a muppet, I remember both Coulthard and D.Hill (both experienced drivers) each giving hand gestures to M Schumacher, and I think most drivers at some point display a childlike emotion/reaction when frustrated all be it vented in a different way ( brake testing for one )so I don't think it is just your No 1 whipping boy so try to keep objective. IF LH can turn it around by seasons end you'll be eating your words
How many of the Hamilton lovers ate their words when he 'turned around' a 17 point lead into a loss in the championship last year? face it he's not that good, a spoit child that makes gestures for no reason! If Alonso did that imagine how many of you british ho's would complain faul behaviour? Hamilton = nothing, another Jaques Villeneuve at best, Bahrain GP proves he is not going to beat the Ferrari this year, only shamilton ho's will be eating their words, actually they already are! lol lol lol
Shame Kovy's beating him 'fair and square' at the moment eh ;)

I wonder how long before Mclaren comes out into the open and say "basically we were racing Heikki"

Was there a problem with Hamiltons car? As he did the 19th fastest time of the race, which was 2.3sec slower than his team mate. There were times when he was over 10 sec behind another car on the track so they were not slowing him down all the time.
I thought he would have gotten past a few more cars than he did. Maybe he would of went quicker if he kept both hands on the steering wheel.

Countered with a report on personal attack, I was just commenting on the GP scene you obviously have a personal problem.
Anyway back to the races, Hamilton wasted an engine and not got a single point, how pointless was that, if they think Hamilton has a chance of winning in Barcelona then theu're dreaming.

A personal problem...me! I think you have got a strange take on life if your comment was on the GP scene!
