Under-fire FIA President Max Mosley has received support from former Ferrari team principal Jean Todt – a man once tipped to replace him at the head of motorsport's world governing body.
A case of one Ferrari crony licking another Ferrari crony's rectum? Looks like it.

God, I hardly know where to start. MM hiring Heather Mills PR adviser? There's a track record to be proud of. JT being seriously crawly about MM, presumably protecting Ferraris interests. MM seeking to ban french websites from hosting the infamous video - why? Does he think the French are prevented from accessing the rest of the web like the Chinese?
This went from shocking, to sad, to annoying and is now firmly in the land of the utterly pathetic.

Robsy/powerline... i can't agree more...when JT has statements like that, for who's glory are they? for sure not the FIA members...

What an absolute ****hole!
At this rate Mosley will win the vote of confidence and retain his position, what a travesty!

not surprising at all - Todt and Mosely share similar moral standards

Surely pure coincidence that Todt has been mentioned as Mosley's likely replacement at the FIA...

Once again, a story that's so entirely predictable that it just isn't news and isn't worth 'printing'. 1. MM has said in the past that JT should be his successor. 2. if MM sticks it out in his job until 2009, he'll supervise (entirely fairly of couse) the process of electing his successor 3. JT wishes MM to stay in his job. Well surprise, surprise, how very astonishing. Perish the thought, needless to say, that JT could possibly have had his own self-interest in mind when he said this. Of course not. For after all, JT is just as much of a gentleman as MM is. Where did I put that bucket?

Most of you making comments on this matter seems to lack common cense and to be what you accuse everybody but certain chosen retired "sportsmen" to be, namely halfwits.

Jan that comment makes absolutely no sense sorry
If JT does become FIA president i'd be appalled but not at all suprised the same can be said regarding MM's tenure as president...course he should go, it's just looking more and more likely that he'll hang on until the end
Well thats a surprise, especially after last year and Fuhrer Mosley's **** licking to Ferrari. Can't see anyone at McLaren doing the same:-) Wish Mosely would just back down and go away gracefully like his predecessor did!

What is amusing is that on the one side Todt is backing MM to the hilt, while at the same time di Montezemolo is tacitly stating he'll have to go....nothing like a good old bit of Italian machiavellian politics.....
oh come on jt...how can you call him a gentleman,he's a disgrace who has offended most of the people involved in f1,their wives and girlfriends, their children and even heads of state of whole countries.eff off mm,and you too jt....
Sounds like somebody is chasing a recommendation....

the video i saw of the "incdent" was somewhat grainy. could it be that todt was one of the submissive participants? seems to have a firm grasp on boot licking...

Jan, what the hell are you saying? Please clarify for us all and make sure you spell it correctly this time. Who's the halfwit now?
While I am far, far from a fan of RD and personally think he handled the Spygate affair rather poorly, I'd definitely rather see him replace MM than JT. Well that'll never happen now. Stewart, Lauda, Hill, anyone will do. Even Stoddy. Like Robsy said, this is horrible and getting worse by the day. This PR move from JT is so obvious that his PR consultants should be freakin whipped. Unless they're as fond of whipping as Max, of course. How stupid do they think we are?
Crash, how about a poll or something to make it show just how massive the fan demands for MM resigning are?

Here's an interesting question - if the a-hole goes, who's going to replace him? I don't think it could be Hill. His bias toward Mclaren and Hamilton is crystal clear. He's made numerous comments in the past that show where his sympathies lie, and they lie with Woking and Lewis.
Cant be Todt or Dennis either. Too many vested interests.
So, Stewart? Stoddy? They're certainly better than the a-hole, but are they the right men for the job? I think Jackie is past his prime, and Stoddy has too much of a personal agenda - he's stated that he wants to be back in F1.
The body needs someone dynamic, intelligent, and impersonal. Someone who can make F1 be all it can be.
How about Eddie Jordan or Sid Watkins to head the FIA? There are probably numerous other qualified people in the various national sanctioning bodies they just are not in the news so we don't know who they are.
What we need is a new FIA president who appreciate these facts:
1. The fans are motorsport biggest customers - have some respect for them; 2. The sponsors are the people who keep the teams in business - have some respect for them; 3. The teams have invested a lot of time, money, technology & good people into the sport - have some respect for them. 4. Failing the 3 facts above, no TV company will talk to you.
Max Mosley doesn't appreciate these facts.
