Anthony Davidson has gone on the offensive against some of his fellow Formula 1 competitors who have criticised the Super Aguri drivers' behaviour on the track during the 2008 season so far, suggesting some of them ‘would crack if they were in our position'.
It is about time that Honda stops funding and keeping this team going simply to please the backers of Takuma Sato. As Anthony Davidson said the Super Aguri cars are a botched up job, and there facilities are not up to the standard required to build F1 cars. Therefore this makes the cars unsafe and a danger to others when racing.
This team should be sold to a works team to make it successful. It would be nice to see an American, European or Far East car builder entering the fray in F1 with a solid budget and real expertise.
Bernie Ecclestone would do well to attract such a group to F1 instead of SAF1, they are not race worthy at the moment.
It doesn't sound like they have anything to sell besides their name and place on the grid. One has to wonder if it would be less expensive for someone to enter as a new team without taking on SA's baggage.
Is he any worse than DC? Crashed someone again last race...

I have nothing but sympathy for SA, and would like them to stay on the grid, but Davidson is completely out of line. If SA can't meet a certain standard of performance, then they shouldn't be in F1. This means that if they're being lapped, both the car and the driver need to be capable enough to get out of the way and not impede someone coming around to lap them. Davidson held up Kimi TWICE. Claiming that the car is vibrating too much to look in the mirrors is inexcusable and sets a bad precedent.
His hard luck story may be true, but that doesn't change the facts. They need to get their act together or get out.
Personally, I hope they stay but they need to improve their racecraft.
Even with the old 107% rule they would easily make it into the races. As long as they are not being shown the blue flag they have every right to stay on the racing line. DC is just trying to take the attention off of his terrible season. He really should shut up. DC better be careful who he offends with his name calling as next year he could be lucky to get any ride, even a SA.
Maybe next year Davidson will get DC's seat. That would be rich.
Davidson is right to defend himself against a driver who is past his sell by date in F1. It is time Coulthard gave his Monaco hotel more of his time and allowed a quicker driver into the Red Bull.
As a rookie Davidson had the measure of Webber when they were both in MInardi's, so it would be reasonable to assume that not only would Davidson regularly make the top ten, as Webber currently does, but that he would also be ahead of the Australian driver too.
As for holding Raikkonen up..? Pardon?

exactly my thoughts. And appologies for the brash comment by me the other day.
Mike... my mistake. Ive got the flu, so Ive got this antibiotic-induced fog around my synapses.
I might have been thinking about Bahrain, where I remember Kimi being held up by one of the Force India's (Sutil) or one of the SAs (Davidson)... could be wrong about this as well. It's all a little hazy right now. ..
I wonder how he would have coped with a Minardi. His whinge says more about the driver than the car.

Mike "As a rookie Davidson had the measure of Webber when they were both in MInardi's." Did some digging, can't see where Davidson ever had the measure of Webber, they only raced together twice with Minardi in 2002, the 1st time Webber finished well ahead and Davidson spun out well before the end both times....Webber retired with gearbox problems on the other occasion but qualified ahead each race..

Davidson should of been given a decent F1 drive years ago, When he was at BAR/Honda he was just as good as Button or Better! Shame Davidson is one of a few british drivers who should of got a good seat years ago. Look at Justin Wilson, he is now doing well for himself in states!
I have sympathy for Davidson and SA and wish them the best of luck because he is a cracking little driver but I don't agree with the assesment that he's better than Button or Webber, As Greg pointed out Davidson was beaten by Webber in the Minardi and also by Button in the only race he participated in (Malaysia 2005), but still I wouldn't say Coulthard was better though! DC needs to shut and and stop crashing each race he's in! The end is nigh for SA but it's also true for DC!
Mark, SAF1 has a going team to sell. It is not easy to enter F1 as a newcomer: remember the Prodrive saga of some months back? F1 is the most technologically advanced, high budget, top expertise motorsport. If these requirements are not all met then cars like the SA's will be unsafe and may place other drivers health in jeopardy. The Japanese should close the book on Sato once and for all and as I suggested SAF1 should sell the team. They are already in heavy debt ($60M just to Honda) and do not have steady sponsors. Davidson deserves a better drive, maybe he could be in a Toro Rosso next year, if Coulthard retires from Red Bull.
I think Taku has developed a lot since his Jordan-smashing days and I would hate to see him leave! I realise that there are not many seats available - his best shot is probably taking Barrichello's seat @ Honda - but I do hope someone sees the value of having such a fighter, motivator and overall enthusiastic and positive driver in your team. He can definitely be quick, he's had the upper hand on Davidson and he'll always give it all he's got!

There is no-one to buy SAF1 - they need to fund additional capacity to build a chassis, the sport is unappealing as a business prospect (thanks Max) and there frankly isn't as much money out there. Also, STR are in the market and they have more capacity currently, so would be a first-choice buy.
Taku won't go back to Honda to relace Reubens - SAF1 was largely created to get Taku out and make way for Reubens in the first place. Taku has peaked, and doesn't fit the Brawn vision: but AD might, as he has a lot of car development experience and good relationships with team engineers at Honda. There is no guarantee Reubens will retire at the end of this year, but I think it likely.

Davidson should stfu himself. His job requires hom to move off the line when he s getting lapped. if he cant do that then he should just not accept the job or leave.
Some drivers do not appriciate the cars that they have.
Getting past back markers is part of any motorsports, and at all levels
