Lewis crowned F1's 'King of Bling'.

Lewis Hamilton's reputation as Formula 1's self-styled ‘King of Bling' has been confirmed, with the McLaren-Mercedes star set to sport a diamond-encrusted helmet in the Monaco Grand Prix this coming weekend.

Hope they will sell the helmet and give the profit to some kind of charity afterward.
IMO it's the only way such a thing can be justificated...

Agree with you D but can't see it happening. Money in F1 stays in F1.
With such poverty around the world it seems unbelievably tastless to do these things.

What will LH do with all this money? What has MS done with all his money? It is well known that Shu has donated heavily, but even so, these sports stars are paid well in excess of what they truly need or deserve. They would all still do it for a million a year or even less and that is what they should be paid, with bonuses given in the event of a top three finish.

Bullshit, what diamonds for the rookie, he might lose his head, it is utterly stupid wearing helmets encrusted with diamonds especially for guys, is lewis gay?. He will never outbeat Michael in anything. So stop putting crazy ideas into that head of his.
There are better drivers than lewis.

The helmet will be auctioned for charity afterwards. The McLaren drivers always get a diamond encrusted helmet at the Monaco race - Heikki got one too, but once again, this is something the Hamilton-haters can use to bash him with. You lot really must get a life!

instead of lots of diamonds on their helmet, why not have one huge diamond stuck onto the top of each drives crash helmet, a bit like a huge siren, and then they all chase each other around the circuit in a Crystal maze style race, collecting each drives diamonds/crystals as they pass them, and whoever has the most diamonds at the end of the race, is declared the winner. Just a thought.

What are you on Nicole. This isn't the first time this has happened. Kimi got one a couple of years ago.

Anyway, it's pretty damn stupid and the kind of thing that just how ridiculous F1 is getting. At least they are auctioning it afterwards, which I believe has happened every time a driver has been given a helmet with Diaomonds.

It's not the best idea to have a diamond encrusted ont he helmet in the race, look what happened when a few years ago when one of the Jaguars had a nice big diamond encrusted on the nose cone and it was lost and never found when the car crashed! I bet one of the marshals in this race hope something happen to one of them cars like last time.

Teabag predicting a McL crash again. First you post FA may take out Lewis on another post and now you are hoping for diamonds to come loose. Do you realize its on the helmet this time and not the nose of the car. What kind of fan are you wishing for all the wrecks?

i cant believe that anyone would think that the diamond would be worth any more just because it is in lulu's helmet. he might as well have it in his pocket.
surely this is just another stupid PR stunt that seem to follow lulu around. his PR manager should get a reality check.

Since you have no imagination let me help you.. IF Hekki or Lewis with the diamond win the race. The helmet and yes the diamond are now very valuable to the right collector. Besides you act like this is the first diamond to be run by the sponsor. The sponsor wanted the diamond in the helmet not the driver. I bet if the diamond was in Alonso's helmet you would be saying its now priceless as he is the best driver engineer ever and is hardworking and a great team mate and a statesmen and so forth and so forth.... yada yada yada. I predict either Hekki or Lewis will win in Monaco.

robert, no matter who's helmet the diamomnd was in, only a harebrained collector would consider it to be worth any more than its intrinsic value. i would love to see a girl with a ring on her hand, and a helmet hanging out of it. get real!

fast jack, exactly. the only saving grace is that the proceds are to go to charity and some over rich plonker will have been persuaded to part with his money, as kenny everett used to say "all in the best possible taste"
