Having won the rights to broadcast Formula 1 from 2009, the BBC has revealed it is to keep production of its grand prix coverage ‘in-house', with two names emerging as key players for the major presenting roles.
I hope the Beeb does not make the mistake of not using Martin Brundle, the team needs input from an F1 Driver who can walk and talk at the same time, and one that will say what he thinks and not what the FIA thought police say should be said. I would say Murray & Martin would do the trick!!

They can rid themselves of everyone apart from one man.
They will be absolutely insane not to get Brundle on board.
In fact, they should be bending over backwards and begging him to join.
This sounds like internal politics and promoting those "in their own family" rather than establishing the best possible package.
Booo.

Good! Mark Blundell's assessments of driver talent are always wrong.
They better not ruin what ITV has started, before ITV took over, u switched to the race 2 mins before the start, and switched off after the podium. ITV have taken the coverage so much further, fair enough the breaks are annoying, but the whole team that ITV have are really good, give you so much more information.
If the bbc are planning to wreck this then i would rather it stayed with ITV.
Please BBC if you read this, please jsut take the ITV team and put it on bbc.

No price is too high in getting rid of Allen! Sorry to see Brundle go, but certainly fantastic to hear it's the end of Allen and Rider. Rider for being very partial to British drivers and Allen simply for being the most irretating voice on TV. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
If it means having to sacrifice Brundle and have the satisfaction of seeing James allen dropped I'm all for it. Maybe they could use Davidson as a current expert - he was pretty good in the box at Hungary a couple of seasons ago. Or use all the Radio 5 Live team who are pretty good.

I can deal with losing Brundle (barely) if it means we get rid of Allen and Blundell.
From what I've heard of the five live team they were pretty good so this can't be a bad thing!
not adrain chilles, when it was first said that it would move to the bbc, i joked that he would do it......
i cant believe it could be true.

Thank goodness! I was dreading hearing that the inane, boring, biased BS of the ITV team would find lodgings in the BBC coverage.
James Allen is possibly the worst commentator on any sport. Anyone is an improvement from him.
Brundle was OK, but there's only so many times I could hear 'I crashed at that corner' before it went from being quaint, to a sorry reflection of his F1 'career'. His ex-driver insight was becoming a bit old hat in these modern times.
Kravitz and Goodman were just pointless.
I hope they use ex-drivers, but one's with more passion and character. Bring on Irvine and Herbert as roving pitlane reporters and take a leaf out of the MotoGP and WSB Bikes coverage

I look forward to the BBC shake up, I will miss Brundle if he is axed, but as for the others I will not miss them unless the new guys are really awful. I would love to see Ben Edwards on the team, I always enjoy his commentry on F3, BTCC and GT racing.

YES! Irvine & Herbert would be good choices. I doubt Irvine would do it, but I would love to see him probbing the superstars and revealing a few secrets on the grid. Davidson too, he was good in Hungary 2006. But I live in hope he wil get another F1 drive. :o)

Should get DC!!
(May have to do a delayed transmission though - that Aus GP outburst would be frowned upon on midday beeb tv)

Agree with the Brundle comments - get him on board BBC! If that's not possible....what about Damon Hill?
Had no idea Adrian Chiles was an F1 fan, a little sad if he isn't as I'd rather see real fans reporting - like the Eurosport MotoGP commentators, as opposed to the presenter of the moment.
Don't mind about the rest. Ted would be OK in the pits, and hearing someone other than James yatter on will be nice

PLEASE not Adrian Chilles, nice bloke, enjoyed him on working lunch but since then his lack of presenting skill have become very apparent indeed.

Brundle is the only one worth keeping - I wouldn't miss any of the others. A shame Ben Edwards won't get a shot as he was excellent on Eurosport. Him and Brundle would make a great team.

Just imagine a Clarkson grid walk!!!!!!!
James May can replace James Allen. We would still have a bumbling idiot, but it would be funnier!
I like Brundle and Goodman. Poor old Ryder must be cursing!!!
I bet the current ITV teams contractor have demanded that if the Beeb want them, they have to buy thier contracts, in which case, the whole team will get the axe

Steve Rider is still contracted to ITV I think for another two or three years and will be fronting ITV's Champions League so I am not sure he will go over. As for the commontary team I think Ben Edwards who currently does the British Touring Cars with Tim Harvey would work well with Martin Brundle in my opinion as I think Edwards is very underrated in my opinion. On Eurosport with fans passionate about MotoGP it Julian Ryder but I cannot remember who the other guy is it, but they got on their BSB and WSBK coverage (if there are not any clashes Jack Burnicle and Jamie Whitham who are at times utterly hysterical at times. I think BBC will take Brundle and Goodman, but not the others
