Despite being the first Brazilian to lead the Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship since Ayrton Senna more than 15 years ago, Felipe Massa has insisted he is not ‘making any comparisons' between himself and the late, great three-time world champion.
"Ferrari's world championship-leading star Felipe Massa insists it is impossible to compare himself to the last Brazilian to sit atop the F1 title standings - the late, great Ayrton Senna"........ probably just as well really, he's very quick in a car to his liking but I don't think he's got the consistency or the ability to drive round a problem
There is only ONE SENNA.The very very best ever, and will always be the best ever.Schuey is the closest to him.Massa and the rest forget very quickly.Massa and the rest of the field(Not Hamilton)are just clowns.Keep on believing your own press and live in your own worlds.

I thought Crash got rid of the SCUM on this forum. Obviously "The D|ck" slipped through the net.

Why should he? Who is the "great???" Senna. Is he great because he drove British teams. Let us be objective Senna was another WDC, but there are several of them. So let us take it easy with the idolatry...

senna died on track ... that always helps to build a legend. i think senna has nothing on schumi
What Senna won before drove for McLaren? 2 races a year... When he was champion first time he drove a car that win 15 of 16 races that year (1988). It is "easier" to be the best driving the very best car.

Senna is revered for many reasons - his early death is one of them of course, but only people who remember his driving know that the praise he gets is well deserved. Senna had the best car only once for certain (1988)- 89 and 1990 could be disputed. Most years his cars were not on a par with the best. His three titles came in an era of actual racing with many talented drivers to beat - Prost as a team mate, Mansell in the Williams over 91 and 92, Piquet was a force in the late eighties in the williams Honda.
And if you really need further evidence of how great a driver Senna was - look up his on board driving at Monaco 1991 or Suzuka in 1989 on qualifying.

Or maybe just look for Senna's first lap at Donnington 1993 in the wet... Enough said... Can't see Massa repeating that in 2010...

Senna was a great pilot, but to say his titles came in an era of actual racing is not very accurate. A typical Senna race would become with him getting the pole position and then either opening a great advantage in the first laps or blocking overtakings with all sorts of dirty tricks. In fact the pilot which actually reminds me of Senna most is Jarno. Once behind Senna one would never pass him on track.

Compared to what F1 is now, the late 80's and early 90's was racing! But viewpoints are different as to what racing is, so fair point.
I agree about schumacher too. I think Schumacher like Senna will be more revered as time goes on. People remember the great drives rather than anything else. Both Senna and Scumacher had questionable ethics on the track at times, but that isn't what most people will choose to remember about either driver. I appreciate how good Schumacher was now he's no longer about in F1.

soichiro, what's your age? i doubt you have watched senna racing. what senna did with toleman was unbelievable, since it couldn't even be called a car. and in fact he only didn't win with that crapcar bc. in monaco they stopped the race before he could catch prost, what absolutelly would happen. actually for a better point of view you should have looked at how many podiums he did in races he could finish (bc at that time his lotus wasn't so reliable) against top drivers (prost,mansell,piquet..) with better machines. Also look at how many poles he did.
