Jenson Button has angrily branded his countryman and Formula 1 rival Lewis Hamilton as ‘weak, very weak', after the McLaren-Mercedes ace pulled out of a charity triathlon in which he had agreed to take the Honda star on.
Great, that's the pot calling the kettle black (no pun intended ).
The Brylcreem Boys strike again. Nightclubbing, glitzin, having a good time...

lulu bet button that he would beat him, to the tune of $20,000. i trust that as he pulled out, and technically button has beaten him, then the money will be donated to a charity. it would be nice to know that he is honourable
Never heard the word honourable in conjunction with Hamilton Mendacious, yes, this is what press thinks of him.

poor headline... JB didn't say LH was weak...
"That's weak, very weak" was the quote... I assume in response for the reason LH pulled out of the challenge, as you didn't actually quote what the question was he responded to.

i do like LH but i really can't understand why he's pulled out of this.
i understand he doesn't want it to detract from his season but they could have done it after the seasons end.
surely the extra training for the triathlon would have benefited his general level of fitness and helped him as a driver anyway?
plus the fact it was for charity and the 'good' publicity would have done him good. I think his advisors have messed up again because i'm sure it's not his decision to pull out of this i think once again he's being badly advised.
No bad advisors, LH started the whole thing telling JB "I'm fit better, JB has a little bit of belly", nobody forced him to tell b/s like this. Then, in press conference, he didn't find a way to back out. After, he ran to his daddy: "Dad, do something, I want out of this!"

I'm pretty sure Jenson would rather be doing anything except drive that hunk of junk of a Honda. Lewis has a championship to worry about- not some overrated driver in a crap car with just 1 win to his credit.

chu chu You should not believe what Crash writes. JB was asked what he thinks of this matter and he answered: "weak, very weak". He didn't say this angrily nor about LH as a person.

Martin Whitmarsh says that "right now Lewis is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't...". That may be true but it is only because he opened his big mouth again. Let's not forget Martin that Lewis bragged and said that he is fitter than Button and then went on to say that he has developed a belly. Well, that in my books is good enough for a duel. Lewis needs to eat some humble pie. Whether he goes forward with the triathlon challenge or not, he will be eating humble pie, and deservedly so! Enough of this arrogant kid now.

i read something the other day saying that hamilton really needs to get a good pr person because at the moment everything he is doing is daft, saying he only takes advice from his dad and then to publicly accept a challenge only to pull out later cos daddy said so, its just a bit daft, the guy can undoubedly drive cars very fast but he keeps bumming up these things. he could have done the triathalon after the season and as 2 of the biggest sports stars in the uk between them they could have raised a fortune for charities, but there we go

alec... i think i can hear your daddy calling you in for dinner!!!
they showed the press conference today and it all seemed pretty light hearted banter between LH and JB so why people are trying to create some kind of hatred between the two guys is beyond me.
like i said LH should accept the challenge, do the training during his normal fitness regime and then do the race after the seasons finished.
i think the team has advised him not to do it for some reason and he's their employee so he has to do as he's told at the end of the day.

henry McLaren hired a dedicated person a year ago to teach LH PR. There seems to be consensus among journalists this person is doing very good job on Lewis. The trouble is LH mouthwork is not controllable, by anyone.

LH disparges Button, reluctantly accepts a challenge, and then uses his father to get out of the competition. What a joker.

This is a non story, LH (or pop) can quite legitmatly withdraw, all the've done is fail to profit from some of the best PR money can't buy. Button on the other hand is highly unlikley to have been derogatory about LH over this and as is common in the press misrepresented.
Button is pissed because he's lost the only chance he'll ever have to beat Lewis Hamilton. Button is, was and always will be a nobody. Never rated him one iota.
Lewis basically accuses Button of being unfit, Button challenges him to a contest, Lewis accepts, then backs away. Lewis is a tool, plain & simple. I really don't understand all the fuss over Lewis - hardly the brightest, certainly far from the most astute. A complete tit with the best kit. Love to see Button & Lewis trade places - LH would be completely lost in that ****-heap Honda.
