Preview – Monza.

I was under the impression that the Ducati's were to have a weight penalty imposed on them if one won at Valencia - which Lanzi did.

Has that happened and I've just missed it, or was it something that Jonathan Green was imagining when he was calling the race?

Think he was imagining it. Although Bayliss is up front, four cylinders are second, third and fourth in the points so I don't think ducati will get a penalty...

Ducati 1st,2nd,3rd and 4th at Monza,just as boring as ever.Im so glad im not watching the Ducati cup,the championship is already over.But the FIM are happy so its ok. Bring back a bit of fairness for goodness sake,viewing audiences have already shot down and im not surprised.Such a shame cos i used to love WSBK.

I think it is just Bayliss who is so dominant, not the Ducati's. The rules at the moment seem pretty fair. Monza should be good for the four cylinders with the long straights.

Totally agree with Donovan, it's Bayliss class what makes the difference..
When I was at Assen you saw that the Japanese bikes where equal and even faster than the Ducati's.. Also you can't blame ducati get on the podium if checa rides neukirchner off, can you??

Totally agree simon. It's also winning in BSB comfortably. The bike is ridiculous over powere compare to the fours. I also like Bayliss but he's only won when the duc has had a big advantage look at his history. The whole WSBK show is starting to look like the TB testimonial cup.

ps Biaggi would be comfortably second maybe even first without the accident. The only reason the rest aren't up there is because they never were....

The weight penalty was going to be added after they worked out the average points total of the Ducati.

I dont wear blinkers, but if the 4 cylinders hadnt taken each other out the total would be different.

We all know why they are allowed to run bigger engines, and they provide power in a different way, thats why they have good stomp out of the corners and lack top end.

There was was only a couple of dukes in the ten front runners in the last grid.hardly a white wash is it.

We all know Bayliss has amazing talent, he is the one that makes the difference..

If the Ducatis are so powerful why aren't the lap records tumbling, its just Bayliss making all the difference, Suzuki aren't far off as is Checa and the works Yams, the rest need to get their act together

It's hardly Troy Bayliss' fault if the 4 cylinder guys keep falling off or taking each other out is it? Haga, Nieto, Checa, Neukichner (not his fault mind) Corser have all
either fallen off or broken down. Troy has finished every race.
Consistency wins championships, not falling off.

I think Max Neukirchner is on for a damn good result at Monza, that GSXR has
already proven itself to be a rocketship at Qatar etc.
Besides which, he's in my MCN Fantasy team, so he better do well! LOL!

I do love the Monza races,i wish the powers that be didnt ruin Hockenhein,i used to love watching the slipstreaming down those forests straights.What happened to Jimmy Clarks Memorial in the Hockenhein forest section,was that demolished along with the track?

As you can see the japanese are consistenly faster..

Agreed that the Japanese bikes have the top speed but they dont have the same grunt out of the corners. Having said that, as many people have already mentioned...the other top runners have had an awful start in terms of incidents and accidents whereas Bayliss has been consistent. Here's hoping Nori can repeat the double this year and close things up a bit. Highly unlikely that he'll be challenging for the championship but you never know...only takes a couple of dnf's to close it all up and thats more than possible.
Going to Brands on Sunday but will catch it when i get back home.

Superpole top speeds - set without the aid of a slipstream - at the recent Assen round were headed by Yamaha Italia's Noriyuki Haga, who hit 287.5km/h. Next best was Alstare Suzuki's Yukio Kagayama (282.3km/h), followed by team-mate Max Neukirchner (280.8km/h).

The highest Ducati top speed in qualifying was 276.5km/h by Troy Bayliss, with Xaus clocking 271.6km/h.
just how 271.6Km/h is faster than 287.5Km/h I have yet to find out, please explane so we will all Know

Does anyone know if they will review Ducati BSB regards weight penalties in the same way as WSB? Shaky has already got massive lead & i think he will p**s it at Brands this weekend too,mind you it doesn't help when everyone else falls off!!
WSBK is just the same no-one else is consistent enough to challenge Bayliss they either fall off (with or without assistance!) or break down.

Must be TBs easiest year ever. Super competitive bike, it excellerates so quickly you can completely c-ock up the corner an still come out ahead..and weak competition....poor effort...Next year should make the fours 1200s as to be inline with previous developments and give them a chance to win....year after 1400 twins and so on and so forth 2 or 3 more years and harley will be racing....

Perhaps they're having to try to hard to keep up...

KEES. The reason those guys are faster in a straight line is because they are slip streaming BAYLISS to try to hang on to him. See you're blinkered. Bayliss never has to slip stream cos he's so far infront.Look at the BSB too,thats now the Ducati cup too.Such a shame

Nah, gotta disagree there Simon (unless you were just being ironic) the 4 cylinder bikes
are definitely faster on top speed than the Ducati's with the Suzuki's being the fastest
of all of them.

IMO the race series is just about fine, IF the 4-cylinder guys would only stop falling off (in both BSB and WSBK) then you'd have a very close championship in both.
It's (so far) just been luck that has handed both Shakey and Troy such a strong led so far. The majority of the races so far this year has seen very close racing in both series. If Cal Crutchlow and Tom Sykes hadn't fallen off/taken out then Shakey wouldn't have won either race on Sunday...
