Stoner 2 seconds quicker than anyone else in the wet, does anybody even auzzies believe that it's down to a previously unsuprising ability.....Not his problem but it shows how far infront Duc is on the electronics front..

Good morning, It depends on who has the best TC settings and power mapping and can use it the best (Stoner?) or maybe, the best wet tyres or wet skills ( vermeulen?), when dry, the best single lap stickies (Michelin ??). Nobody knows.
Last year is was Rossi before that Edwards, This year ?
At least Rossi can't stand on the roof of the BMW anymore though. BMW avoided the coupé this year
The "other" Ducs are always way behind though... The Yamaha seems to be the easiest bike for the riders as they are all competitive. Good for Yamaha, bad for Ducati...
Does anyone know what will the wheather when Q-time is on???
I live about two hours from Jerez. It has just started to rain (the first time for six weeks!! It is cold and windy). It looks to be set in for the day

I think this is VRs first time on bridgestones in the wet, I see Hayden is looking good in the rain, in race trim nowhere but I quietly fancy Nicky. Stoner fall off CV to be there or there abouts. Vale to come close but no Cigar. Westy do the decent thing hand in your notice and go back to where your competitive, Kawasaki need a seriously good rider....Having said that I saw Rossi at Donnington in 2005 in the rain and it was spell binding.
Nice one Chris. Nice one Dovi and JT (top Yamaha and first ride in the wet). Stoner is still the only one to ride that Ducati real fast. Injured Hopkins still in front of West in the wet??
I think Melandri and West will shown the door pretty quickly if this lack of form continues.
Stoner just got fastest time! Go Vale you can do it!!!

This is the second day in a row that JT is up there with the best. It says an awful lot for him and for the very experienced people getting sprayed by him.

Im new to motogp, I take it Stoner must have superior electronics compared to the other Ducatis also then? Is this the reason he beat his experienced team mate last season?
In F1 you always get conspiracy theories about drivers being favoured over others, I guess in MotoGP they just tell everyone as you all seem to know?

Why good to see you guys know so much about riding,
Rossi,Pedrosa, lorenzo have never been realy flash in the wet unless they're not being pushed.
As to electronics, someone still needs to steer the beast
Rossi is probably the best rider in the dry in the field but his machine is not great,
Doohan was much better 500 and no where near the TC Rossi has had since he first start GPS's
Suck it down ****o roach ed

On a fully wet track the effect of electronic traction control systems is to reduce lap times and to stop the rider from crashing out. So the rider who wins on a wet track will have his TC turned right down or switched off, instead relying on his racing wet tyres and his inbuilt TC system i.e. brain and wrist. Usually the best wet riders are the American's and Aussie's who come from a background of dirt track racing and have learned how to constantly keep the back wheeel just on the limiit of gripping and spinning.

Traction control 'does not reduce lap times' or slow down the bikes, but prevents the tyre from spinning and keeping the rider from crashing ..

Of course it slows the bike down! it reduces power. The key is getting the setting correct as jacko stated. If you drive a car round a track and the traction control is strong, trust me it prevents you going into a corner as fast as you may like.
Most crashes in the wet are caused by loosing the front I thought?
