This morning's first free practice had taken place on a track still partially wet from overnight rain and saw a spectacular highside for Valentino Rossi.
Pedrosa should be praying it doesn't rain on Sunday. Then again that would be good, as I'd hate to see this guy win the title when he goes all girly in the wet!!!

Glad to hear that Rossi is okay after the crash in practice. It looks like his team is getting closer and hope this translates to a good finish for this race, hopefully on the top of the podium. Like to see a good competitive race. Go Rossi!!!

Brilliant almost impossible to predict. This morning all bridgestone, this afternoon bar Rossi all michelin...

I am a Rossi fan but i think Pedrosa would be a good bet to be champion this season?
Well, I was wrong. It did dry up. Must have been the wind which has been pretty strong the past few days. Apparently a tornado went through a couple of hundred kms north of here a couple of days ago. Still tomorrow and Sunday are not guaranteed to be good weather coz the weather is a bit unsettled at the moment and it changes very fast here.

I still think its way to early to say who will win the championship, but Ferret you cuold be right. I hope its a dry race but a bit of rain would defineatly make it interesting.

Looks like it'll be a closer race if it stays dry. Casey is doing a rain dance right now ;)

As far as I can see, the Rossi / Bridgestone partnership is getting stronger. And this is on supposed circuits that dont suit the Stone's. Why is that, does anyone know?

rossi the man to beat in this race .. showed he was quick both when it was a little wet and also dry ... Dani depends if it is wet or not . If its dry he will be in the top 3 . As for Stoner if its wet he will probably win .. If its dry if he can keep the beast upright he will have a chance(although using his second bike he did allright suppose they need to tweak the damn thing a little me as he was half a second off the top three) ... But really think dani and vale will be the two fighting for the win .. really hope rain doesnt play into this as it should be good ...

Dani went reasonably well in the wet last year, except that "roll-over" he did in Japan(i think). I also hope it will be dry... I hope for a nice top 3 fight
If it will be wet, it will be a lottery.
If it's a very close fight, almost I don't care who wins...(...go Spain!!!)

Andy : Dani and majority of the spanish riders are pretty much hopeless in the rain .. Dont get me wrong both dani and jorge are great riders but when it rains they loose all confidence and really dont push their bikes .. Vale was also pretty bad in the rain but he has learnt adn has much more confidence in the wet now .. should be interesting if it does rain to see vale on the B/stones as they are pretty much better in the wet .. but dont know why the aussies seem to love the rain especially vermu .. he is a freak in the rain

Guys - It's Friday - tomorrow is another day! In other words they are still a second or two off final qualifying times at the moment, but poeple are trying to read so much into the first dry, but still slightly slippery session. All we know is that if it stays dry people are going to get faster!

I think what we do know from today is the confirmation that honda and yamaha are a serious threat to ducati this season.
Yes, its the first day and yes, its still a bit slippery, but isnt that when stoner is at his best...example - donnington last season.
i think the first day shows who's on the pace and who's gonna be there come sunday, its just for the rest to play catch up. I'm hoping for a good dry close race, and if rossi is near the front with 5 laps to go, watch him win, cos he was the fastest in the final laps of jerez and we all know how good bridgestone's durability is..
Lets just hope for a good close race, the best guy to win and maybe a few beers to wash it all down.
Dani P is the BEST!!!!! C'mon, Dani, and win it, Campeón ;)!!!!!
