Pedrosa, Hayden set up for China.

Pedrosa, Hayden set up for China.

In a further sign that the spring-valve engine is more than capable of holding its own, Pedrosa was fastest of all on qualifying tyres with Hayden leading the way on race rubber.

Braking and out-maneuvering other bikes has never been Honda's forte, it's always Yamaha's. Honda had lost its long time advantage to Yamaha now - speed. Soon they will be consigned to the back-end.

Really? When Rossi was riding Honda it was considered by everyone as the best bike on the track, and that included its client bikes, infact every rider in the paddock was dying to go to Honda. They use to say that anyone could ride their bike and win, then Rossi and Burgess left.

When they sort the Pnuematics out I'm pretty sure they will match the others for speed. Michelin have certainly had a wake up call now Rossi has left them so I think Pedrosa is still favorite for the title IMO of course.

Nice work done by hopper n almost there.

Go Hopper!
Go Kawa!
Bring rossi in the squad and see if he can bring the same kinda glory to the squad. Want him to accept the challenge n prove it to the world that he's the guy/man.
I think westy shoud stick to his 07 settings if 08 arnt working for him at the moment. The guy has got talent but i think he is developing his setup in wrong direction. If the prob is with the bike then how come hopper is doing so well as the time passes just look at his times improving all the time. Kawasaki is bike with hell of a potential but need proper ppl like yamaha.

Obviously West results this year are worse than expected, even worse than they should be. Problem is the guy sounds totally frustrated, he s hit a wall, and that smetimes kills motivation

I agree with Dakota ... seems the same with the Yam now - whatever VR develops, it works for every rider it seems

If West doesn't show some serious improvement he will be out at Kawasaki. He and Melandri are both in serious jeopardy of loosing their seats!! I think they will both be gone regardless. Nakano needs to go too. The only reason hes still racing is because he Japanese and younger the Tamada or else he would have been shown the door last year as well.

As for Rossi going to Kawasaki, theres a snow balls chance of that. Rossi wants a team that can WIN that means, Yamaha, Ducati or Honda. Besides Kawasaki kicked out serious money for Hopkins's getting Rossi would break the bank!!

Ducman1098R - Rossi burnt his bridges with Honda and can't return, plus they don't need him. Rossi is not a good fit with Ducati, he is almost too famous and would detract from the Ducati brand. Rossi would also have to take a massive pay cut to ride for Ducati. This could be his third year without the championship. He is the highest paid rider on the grid. Everything that Yamaha can provide him with has been at his disposal including his tyres of choice. To not get the job done is inexcusable. If he doesn't win the championship for Yamaha this year he will be sacked. So Kawasaki may be his only option if he wishes to stay in MotoGP for 2009.

Honda is not doing too bad with a bike not developp by Rossi, last year they were working on two different project and the new one won at the second GP.

To be a full factory rider is not easy, it is a lot of pressure for West, maybe too much?

tutal & total -
Rather than just saying I talk **** why don't you contribute to the forum by critically analysing what I have said then come up with a counter argument. I will help you understand how this works....
I said that Rossi has burnt his bridges at Honda, I said that because Rossi has publicly claimed that Honda did not give him the credit he deserved in taking the 500cc and the 990cc Honda to consecutive championships. It was also widely reported that contract negotiations between Rossi and Honda were acrimonious.
Now if you think I am wrong and Rossi hasn't burnt his bridges with Honda post a reply which offers a different perspective. But perhaps words don't come easy to you?

Jacko, the reason we take the mick is because when you repeatedly come out with stupid statements like "If he doesn't win the championship for Yamaha this year he will be sacked", it shows you have no idea what you are talking about. Very, very naive mate

OK Tutal - Explain if you were head of yamaha racing why you would re-hire Rossi for 2009 if he failed to win the championship this year. Don't talk about past victories, because they don't pay tomorrows wages. I'm not in slightest bit bothered about you taking the mick but I would rather you used reasoned arguments rather than just fan boy statements. Go on give it a go.
