Stoner has 'nothing to fear', Melandri 'happy'.

Sort Comments:

Stoner 'nothing to fear', Melandri happy.

The Australian bounced back from two tough rounds to take his first front row qualifying performance of the season on Saturday, and is a previous Shanghai winner in both the wet (2005) and dry (2007).

"Also, I want to say thanks to Bridgestone because they came up with a really competitive qualifying tyre and it allowed us to get on the front row"

..U should thank valentino for that. That what u get when u have people like rossi in on ure tyre .

hats off to rossi ...for being the best bridestone rider .. in the last 2 races and also here.[ phew !... how did he manage to do that without any previous tyre data]
only rossi can be crazy and good enough to switch tyres,..and fight for the win !!!

go valli !!!!!!!!!! show what u r made of !!!!

im sorry i dont agree, yes rossi is good, but he has no infulence on ducati and it getting 2nd on the grid.

and no input on ducati, bridgestone and stoner winning last years title.

this article is about stoner, melandri and ducati.

He is a great rider, but this is not about rossi in any shape or form. people need to know they are both great racers

it is possible to have more than one good rider in the world, does anyone agree?

i dont agree with you brendan, hmmm funny the tune has changed wasnt casey saying a new qualifier wasnt important?

rossi and stoner are top riders but when it comes to experience and knowledge for tyres rossi is the man, simple as that

This kid is a little bit of a hypocrit.

In Qatar he scornfully declared that qualifiers are not important and HE sarcastically said that they are just a waste of space in HIS tyre allocation basically pointing to the recent "ridiculous" demand of Rossi for better Qualifiers and a front tyre specifically for qualifying.

And now he thanks Bridgestone for making recent Qualifiers surely because Rossi convinced them to put some more effort in that area.

Sorry, but here he really made a fool of himself...

The reason for better bridgestone performances this morning is clearly due higher track temperature..

For as good as Rossi is (and he's the best, IMO), I don't think he is any more responsible for the good performance of the Bridgestones this year as he was for the poor performance of the Michelins last year.

erm 46&out ... Casey kinda skipped the last few years of school to go racing instead ... I think even spelling "psych games" is tough for him, never mind the thought process ... but oh look, it's a bit difficult for u to spell too!

vr46 maybe so mate, and for sure he has more experience so should be better at development. tyre development not really sure he is that amazing(cos michelin sinked last year). i do feel tyre development is more down to the manufactures them selvels. but thats just my opinion.

My point is fans of either stoner or rossi or who ever feel their can be only one great rider. which isnt true, both rossi and stoner have made stupid mistakes. one cost rossi a title, one has cost stoners points and second round. neither are gods.

Even Ago and Hailwood made mistakes, tho i dont like speaking about todays riders compared to them two.

Obviously Rossi doesn't develop tyres himself. He does provide a rider relevant opinion that makes Michelin or Bridgestone "move". If he states that being on the 2nd or 3rd row is not enough because you can get hit or you lose too often places, then that is a fair statement. If Stoner immediately declares that "Q-tyres are a waste of space" than everyone knowns who he's answering.

Obviously B'stone will listen to Rossi, because he is a valuable input AND a mega marketing deal. That a few months after Rossi's demand the Q-tyres work better is clearly because they allocated some resources to get this done. Quite impressive. It makes a difference in "awareness" if a "red cap" is on pole.

Dice, I wouldn't have picked you as an English critic. Based on your complete abuse of the language, that is.

On a more positive note, my four-year-old son tells me that your addition is just fine.

Assuming that's true (which I don't believe), if the Michelins have closed the gap on the Bridgestones on race day, are you going to blame Rossi for diverting resources away from race tyre development?
