I hope vermuleum is paying for that ride at spewzuki otherwise what a waste of a motorcycle. hopefully denning can convince rossi or lorenzo or even de puniet to come over and show the bikes true potential.

I have nothing against Chris but I cannot see why so many people rate him so highly. He has been consistantly beaten by his team mate last year, and he is struggling to beat Loris this year. His win was a bit special, but he did get out on the right tyre a lap before anyone else.

I think Chris is as overrated as they come. Even Ronald Ten Kate rated Toseland as a better rider when interviewed. I don't think it's luck he's missing.

codger:
Vermeulen wasnt consistantly beaten by hopkins last year. it was the closest team mate battle in the whole field.
the fact is, they were both on the podium four times in the season, BUT one of Vermeulens podium visits was a race win.
'Extremely unusual' is the Suzuki's interpretation of their results = excuse! for me Chris is ok (remember his performance on unfactory the only CBR 1000 RR) as a rider but has no such an experience as factory riders 'born in' motoGP. The main problem is just Suzuki factory. Ask Loris and he'll say that! Less wasted money on Public Realtions and put it in technology.

I think Vermuelen has peaked in his Moto GP career. He showed a lot of promise in WSB, he should have stayed for 2 more years and come away with the title. The Suzuki is just not good enough for him to showcase his talents, a fact that probably helped Hopper to move on. Shame really.

TheKaz, a few different scenario's, a bearing failure in the transmission, causing the output shaft to move, laterally. (chain would then be too loose) Bent shaft, from maybe a kog breaking off, and lodging between the teeth,(long shot), or maybe just the sproket, had problems, on the output shaft.
could not have been the cam chain, the engine would have died, a quick death.

Oh I have no issue with understanding how a drive chain can slip the problem I have is undersatnding how a chain can slip for 22 laps while at the same time not cuasing catastrophic failure ? Would be more believable if there were pix of the bike after the fact

As much as i like Chris and think he is a good rider he is not developing or improving Suziki's position and it has been this way for some time now. I think it may be time for him to move else where.
