After a disappointing French Grand Prix, in which he was denied a place on the MotoGP podium for the first time this year, Dani Pedrosa bounced back with the fastest Monday test time at Le Mans as the Spaniard worked to solve front end problems experienced in the race.
Come on dani, don't let rossi win in Mugello!!!!! GO gO gO !!!

These Mich Qualis... If you throw them onto a greasy wall they'd still stick like an octopus.
Impressive, but only 0.56s faster than the next best.
Mugello is for Rossi Dani is on top with spring valve Let me guess the advantage of pneumatic Honda. LOL

Dani is on top with a 20kg weight advantage!
And Yamaha has engine upgrades coming soon too.
Not that test times are meaningful anyway.

Bit of a misleading title. Isn't it?

Great season so far, it's still up for grabs. Don't count Stoner out yet, he's a gutsy rider and a very quick one too. He'll learn how to deal with the media etc as he gets older. Glad to see Valentino has shut up the idiots who wrote him off. Lorenzo is just a total nutter, got to love him for that !! Dani is having his most consistent year and looks focused. Who's gonna come out on top ? Bring on Mugello !!

I noticed there is no comment about Hayden anywhere ...Is that some kind of resignation ??

Hayden is clearly struggling, he's not a happy camper. He'd be better off moving to another team if he gets offered a ride. If he swapped seats with Marco, they'd probably both be much happier. I have the feeling that Dovi has his name on Nicky's bike though....

Persionally I can't ever see Pedrosa winning the MotoGP championship. I was watching on Sunday and all I kept thinking was "what a bottler!". No doubt the kid can ride a bike fast and faster than everyone else a lot of the time but it his is racing that lets him down. He lacks agression and commitment, desire maybe. Jorge on the other hand has balls the size of an elephant. I didn't like him much at the beginning of the season but he has proved himself as a potential world champion, maybe not this year but next?

Your comments are spot on. The best post I have seen for ages. I also am enjoying the season so far. The balance of power seems to shift weekly. Lets hope it stays that way all season
cheers scott

Maybe the weight advantage Dani has, particularly over his team mate, is the biggest factor in the performance of his Honda over the rest? A weight difference of over 20kg is going to help him everywhere, acceleration, braking, handling and fuel consumption. Acceleration and braking-wise it's the equivalent to Haydon starting with a full tank and Dani on fumes. And having better fuel comsumption means he can effectively have more power available to him during the race, where Nicky may have to economise.
It's no surprise then that Dani is in no hurry for the new more efficient engine, as this would probably be of more benefit to his team mate, Haydon!

Perhaps its time that the Governing body stepped in and began to look at this sport the same way that they do in horse racing with jockeys. Clearly Pedrosa has a weight advantage which is making him appear quicker than the rest on his spring valve machine. Maybe a combined weight for rider and machine is the way to level that particular advantage out making it fair for everyone involved.

Mr R Sole... I agree to an extent as Dani does get a definite advantage from his weight, but why punish Dani for being smaller than other people? remember someone like colin edwards is probably pushing 30kgs more than Dani, Rossi maybe only 20kg so where do you draw the line? I think it is fine as it is with regards to not having weight restrictions. In some areas the heavier guys will have an advantage as they can force more weight onto the pegs and thus onto the rear wheel for traction, thinking wet conditions and riding with worn tyres here, so its not all one way traffic! maybe that it why dani noticably sits the bike up so much on corner exits.
All in all... Rossi for mugello win!!!

Interesting thought but this might open the Pandora box for all sorts of tricks. What if a heavy (comparatively) rider manages to climb aboard a featherweight bike? He would have an immense advantage in lean angle gains. (He wouldn't have to lean the bike so much for a given speed/turn radius because he would be able to move the combined CoG much further out of the bike than his competitors)
