Ballast rules set to change.

The ballast rules within the World Touring Car Championship are set to be revised during the 2008 campaign in an effort to make the entire system easier to follow.

Sorry but I can't understand why ballast is used in the first place. All of the manufacturers and teams know what weight the cars must be. If they can't build a car to be competetive thats not the other teams fault yet they get punished by having ballast added.

Give them one set of rules and let them get on with it.

Same applies for front and rear wheel drive. Why should BMW get extra weight on their cars. Front wheel drive manufacturers should build quicker cars!!

Rant over thank you. lol

i think you'll find that ballast or 'success ballast' as it's known is to keep the independants in touch with the front runners with the large budgets.
but at the end of the day the drivers who carry ballast are the 'better' drivers in the better cars who win 99% of the races and win the championships anyway.

if all the teams in the pits had the financial backing then yeah all the cars should weight the same weight before each race and let em get on with..

i'm speaking more about btcc but it does apply to the wtcc
