Priaulx: Lewis has taken British attention.

Priaulx: Lewis has taken British attention.

World Touring Car Championship title winner Andy Priaulx admits he is happy to simply be recognised within the sport despite being over-looked for the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award.

 2 people disagree.

Despite the sleaze, politics and alledged corruption in F1 this year,it was ever thus F1 is no1 apparently. This years WTCC has shown that it is well worthy of No1 status with the WRC at No2.WTCC has proper overtaking whereas most F1 races are won or lost in the pits.Priaulx'achievment is well wothy of BBC Sports Personality and what about Colin McRae as a posthumous winner?

Yeah Priaulx has won 4 titles in a row yet they put Lewis there who hasnt won a championship this year and James Toseland who has won 2 titles but not in a row. And also i hope they recognise or do something to remember Colin Mcrae because he truly was a great and deserves to be remembered as just that.

Its a shame that Priaulx hasnt been put forward for BBC sports personality, but it seems like the wtcc is 'hidden away' and if you didnt watch it on Eurosport, you'd never know about the great racing. But those who do, appreciate that Andy is one of our all time great drivers. And he's certainly deserving of any awards that come his way.
