DTM calendar confirmed for 2009

The organisers of the DTM confirmed the provisional calendar for 2009 on Tuesday and like this year it will again feature eleven rounds in six European countries, including an event at Brands Hatch in the UK.

There are no significant changes with the only alteration being that the event at the Oschersleben moves from an April slot to July.

"The co-operation with all the circuits has been excellent, therefore, it goes without saying that we are going to return to the venues that have been staging DTM rounds in 2008," said Hans Werner Aufrecht, chairman of ITR - the DTM rights holder and distributor.

"Continuity represented the top priority for us while planning the new season, consequently, we want to keep on supporting the successful development of every race on the calendar."

The full schedule, which will now be submitted to DMSB and FIA for its approval, is as follows:

2009 DTM calendar - Provisional:

26th April Hockenheimring Germany
3rd May Mugello Italy**
17th May EuroSpeedway Lausitz Germany
5th July Norisring Germany

2nd August Zandvoort Netherlands
16th August Nürburgring Germany
30th August Brands Hatch Britain**
20th September Circuit de Catalunya Spain
