as usual, couldnt see the race. this "circuit" is totally useless and should not be on the schedule. however, race seems to have been relatively boring apart from the last lap, where schieder was pushed wide and dropped to fourth. top seven cars seperated by 4 secs! and even our dear ralfy was in sixth. i wonder how that happened?

@ Richard: Sir, I do live in Nuremberg, and I can assure you that the circuit is neither useless nor doesn't it belong on the DTM schedule. We, the people here, are very proud of thr Norisring. If the Norisring is useless, so are Long Beach and Monaco. Like all street courses, it isn't compareable with a purpose built racetrack, but, heck, it isn't SUPPOSED TO! It has it's own special atmosphere, and if you've never been here, you can't POSSIBLY make a judgement.

And also: the race today was a thriller, better than some BTCC races, and that does mean something! Have you ever been here? If not, I invite you to join us for next year's race, and I'm very sure you'll change your mind.

Regards!

holmatro, thanks for the invite! would love to be there, as i really believe that dtm is one of the best series. unfortunately it is not shown on tv in uk, although i can see it sometimes on dsf. i posted, based on the reports i read on internet, but although i have never been in nurnberg, i still think that the circuit is not good. there are really just two basic straights linked by a corner. monaco and long beach have a far greated number of cotrners. also there were a lot of problems this year due to manholes etc. the main hairpin seems to cause a lot of problems as it is at end of long straight contd

contd dont get me wrong, the city does a good job, but due to the cars being so evenly matched, the course does need more overtaking possibilities. i just wish that the dtm got more airtime, as more exposure would raise the profile of the series. look how few people now visit this site.

Hey, Richard, your ALWAYS very welcome! :) And you really do have a point when it comes to the DTM being televised in GB. But try, the livestreams are there in the Internet!!!! I could tell you a few very good ones, mate!

OK, you're also basically right with that the basic layout of the norisring doesn't look very challenging. But it it very, very technical, believe me, and far harder to drive and setup-wise than some of the Road Tracks I'm used from the US. Not kiddin' you, man! And funnily the layout with the broad long straights and tight turns or hairpins afterwards makes for better racing and outbreaking than Monaco or beloved Long Beach with the tight and twisty layout.

Cheers!

Oh, BTW: that manhole thing also made me shake my head, but it's the first time that ever happened here in more than 40 Years of Racing here. :-o It was one of those freak things I'm lost to explain. But hey, now we're at least in good company. 2003 the same thing happened at the high-profile and high-money invitation race in shanghai, where also an Audi got clobbered.
