Alex Zanardi confirms he did have discussions with BMW about doing the DTM in 2013, but that he thought it would be a 'little bit too much'...

thats a pity! but i wonder why he allowed bmw to modify a car for him to test, and then decide not to race? possibly he found the car more difficult to drive than a wtcc car?

kudos to bmw for supporting him over the years, includng the design and build of his cycle. just look at how light it is!

Sounds plausible Richard - I've heard the DTM cars demand a very specific technique which may not have suited him. It's a great shame we won't see him on the grid but inspirational Sandro is clearly a man of such rare honesty, humility and integrity that BMW would have been glad to give him a shot either way.
