Nurburgring: Timo Scheider, Audi – Q&A

Timo Scheider: Our target is still to be in the thick of the action at the front and to fight for victories. I really hope that we can put this into practice at the Nurburgring...

Audi's Timo Scheider looks ahead to his home race this weekend at the Nurburgring, the seventh round in the 2013 DTM season...

Q:
Timo, you've been living in Austria for several years now. Is the DTM race at the Nürburgring still your home race?

Timo Scheider:
Yes, of course. Your home is always your home irrespective of where you live. I love coming back to the Nurburgring, because a lot of friends and acquaintances always support me there. It's a good feeling and makes every race there into a special race for me.

Q:
The DTM recently celebrated its premiere in Russia. What's your impression of the country and its people?

Timo Scheider:
Moscow is an incredibly turbulent and pulsating metropolis that appears never to sleep. It's possible that you can suddenly find yourself in a traffic jam on a six-lane highway in the middle of the night.

Q:
After three no-scores you finally scored points in the race there. A change of trend?

Timo Scheider:
I really hope so. From the performance aspect, we could also have scored points in the previous races. A lot of bad luck prevented this. This is why I'm happy that it was enough for two points in Russia. However, our target is still to be in the thick of the action at the front and to fight for victories. I really hope that we can put this into practice at the Nurburgring.
