Kolles plots return, names Bakkerud

Despite Audi stating it was to focus on its three factory teams for the 2009 DTM season, Colin Kolles has revealed that he intends to run his Futurecom TME outfit again during the upcoming campaign.

The team will run Dane Christian Bakkerud in one of its two-year old Audi A4 machines as part of its expanded programme which also includes entries into the F3 Euroseries and the Le Mans Series – where Bakkerud will be one of the drivers in an Audi R10.

Bakkerud will look to follow in the footsteps of Markus Winkelhock and Katherine Legge, who moved into the DTM with the Futurecom TME team before being moved up into newer machinery by Audi.

Alex Premat also secured a works Audi drive on the back of a successful test with Kolles' team.

“Markus, Katherine and Alexandre are the best proof, that it definitely makes sense to line up in an older car and use this learning year with us as steppingstone to recommend yourself for a newer generation car,” he said. “We would be happy, if Christian would succeed to match his predecessors."
