Ralf Schumacher will compete with the AMG Mercedes C-Class again in the 2010 DTM, it has been confirmed.
Ralf, who made his debut in the German tin-top series in 2008 with Mucke Motorsport, switched to HWA last season and he will continue with that team this year. To date he has scored 12 points in the DTM, his best result coming last year when he finished fifth in Dijon.
"It is great fun to race in the DTM; one of the most important reasons for this is the perfect co-operation with Mercedes-Benz and the HWA team. Therefore, I look forward to a third year in this fantastic championship," said Ralf, who raced in F1 between 1997 to 2007, winning six grand's prix in total and notching up over 300 points.
"At Mercedes-Benz and my team, I have the opportunity to practise motor racing at the best professional level.
"In 2010, the fans will experience a so far unique combination - my brother Michael in F1 and me in the DTM, and both of us will race for Mercedes-Benz, this will be an exciting motor sport season."
Norbert Haug, vice president Mercedes-Benz Motorsport, meanwhile added that he expects Ralf to be a lot more competitive in the DTM now that he has two seasons under his belt.
"We all look very much forward to Ralf being a member of our DTM driver line-up again in 2010 and that he will enter his third season together with us.
"Soon, Ralf became one of the favourites of the spectators of the series and I am sure that in 2010, after the necessary 'learning time' everybody needs in the DTM, he will further improve in sporting terms," Haug concluded.
