Jarvis eyes wins, title push

Audi Sport Team Abt 'new boy' Oliver Jarvis is aiming high now he is in a latest spec Audi A4 DTM.
Britain's Oliver Jarvis has said he will be out to win races this season – and hopefully fight for the 2010 DTM drivers' title.

Jarvis will drive a current spec Audi A4 DTM for the reigning champion Audi Sport Team Abt outfit this year, and he is eager to make the most of the chance. The event this weekend at Hockenheim will be his 22nd in the German tin-top series, having made his debut in 2008. Last year he finished ninth in the standings, with 18 points on the board - his best results, two podiums.

"Finally the DTM season is about to start!" said the 26-year-old. "It seems like forever since the last race at the end of 2009. This year I'm even more excited than normal heading into the new season as part of the ABT team in a current generation A4.

"My aim is to win races and fight for the championship title. I am aware this is a difficult task with the level of competition, not just within the Abt team who can boast four DTM championships between my three team-mates - and the other Audi teams but also from Mercedes. But I feel I'm up to the task and head into the season extremely motivated and focussed.

"Hockenheim has been a good track for me in my previous two years in the DTM and it's a great place to kick start the season with fantastic support from the fans and an amazing atmosphere."

Fellow Brit Katherine Legge meanwhile will also be in action for Audi, this time as part of the Audi Sport Team Rosberg line-up – her third different Audi team in consecutive years.

She is also looking forward to the opening event: "New year, new team, same track, same car: I'm already familiar with some of the conditions at the beginning of my third year for Audi in the DTM.

"But a few things are brand new. Hockenheim is the track on which I've driven most of my kilometres in DTM races and experience is simply a huge factor. I've really gelled with Audi Sport Team Rosberg and look forward to this new start," she summed-up.
