DTM calendar tweaked

2013 DTM calendar amended
The DTM calendar for next season has been revised in response to recent changes to the 2013 F1 schedule.

Following news that the F1 German Grand Prix will now take place on July 7, the DTM race at the Norisring will now take place a week later on July 14.

This has resulted in three other alterations due to 'logistical reasons' and as such the Zandvoort event now shifts from July 21 to September 29, with the race at Oschersleben shifting from September 1 to September 15 and the season finale at Hockenheim now taking place on October 20.

“Due to the short-notice alterations on the Formula 1 calendar, we also had to respond by adapting the DTM calendar to the new situation,” explained Hans Werner Aufrecht, chairman of DTM rights holder and promoter ITR e.V.

“By postponing the Norisring round by a week we avoid a scheduling conflict with the home race of F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel. Consequently, the fans aren't forced to choose if they prefer attending the F1 race or the DTM round in Nuremberg.

“Thanks to this move, they have the chance of witnessing these two motor-racing highlights on two successive weekends.”
