DTM legend Bernd Schneider will compete at next month's Bathurst 12-hour race for the first time in his career.
Schneider, who made his first competitive appearance last season since retiring from the DTM in 2008, will once again race for Erebus Motorsport, the team in which he scored success for at last season's Aussie GT finale at Sydney.
Since then the 48-year old has further visited the top step of the podium, this time in the shape of this month's Dubai 24-hour and heads to the legendary Mount Panorama circuit in a rich vein of form.
"I enter the event with some momentum after winning the Dubai 24 Hour with Black Falcon and before that the win for Erebus in Sydney.” said Schneider.
“It is considered to be one of the world's greatest tracks, it's a fantastic challenge for any driver, but to be part of this Erebus Motorsport team and chasing the 12 Hour victory for AMG Customer Sports is a very special thing.”
Schneider will share the Mercedes SLS AMG Gullwing with the current FIA GT1 world team champion Thomas Jager along with V8 Supercar stars Tim Slade and Lee Holdsworth.
