BMW's Marco Wittmann sets the pace during free practice at Brands Hatch ahead of today's qualifying session for round two of the DTM championship in a field which was separated by just half a tenth.

Wittmann went fastest after setting a 41.378 second lap around the Indy circuit, less than a tenth quicker than Audi's Mike Rockenfeller who in turn was closely followed by Hockenheim pole-sitter Timo Scheider in third.

Defending DTM champion Bruno Spengler negotiated the opening running in fourth ahead of Miguel Molina in fifth.
