DTM organisers have confirmed that former F1 racer Vitaly Petrov will appear at the Russian round of the season in Moscow next month.

The former Renault and Caterham driver will drive a DTM Race Taxi during the event at the Moscow Raceway, which will be the first DTM event to be held on Russian soil.

Prior to that, Petrov will make an appearance in the annual Moscow City Racing event on the streets of the Russian capital this weekend.

Following a press conference on Saturday alongside Mike Rockenfeller, Andy Priaulx and Ralf Schumacher, Petrov will then get behind the wheel of a Mercedes AMG C-Coupe on Sunday for a series of demonstration runs, with Rockenfeller and Priaulx also in action for Audi and BMW.

"I'm thrilled by my co-operation with DTM," Petrov said. "You definitely should attend the race from 02nd to 04th August. And who knows if you won't be one of the lucky ones to win a lap with me on the Moscow Raceway!"
