Nurburgring: Glock targets podium return

Timo Glock: A podium in the Eifel Mountains would be a dream come true for me.
BMW's Timo Glock says achieving a DTM podium this weekend at the Nurburgring would be 'a dream come true'.

The German, who made the switch to the DTM this year after leaving the Marussia F1 team, already has one podium to his name, but his third place at the Red Bull Ring also remains his only points scoring finish to date.

Glock, this season, has seemed to struggle with the DTM's qualifying format along with the reduction of the series' free practice on a sometimes alien circuit for the German. As a result the 31-year old has only made it into the top ten once on a Saturday.

Glock, however, approaches this weekend with optimism given the experience he has around the legendary German circuit.

“I know the Nurburgring quite well from my time in Formula BMW and Formula One,” said Glock.

“I am now looking forward to going on the track in a DTM car for the first time. I have a lot of fond memories of the circuit, so am optimistic I can get back into the top ten.

“A podium in the Eifel Mountains would be a dream come true for me.”
