Lucas di Grassi and Nico M?ller will get the opportunity to sample one of Audi's RS5 DTM cars this week, as they join a group test at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

Audi will join rivals BMW and Mercedes-Benz in conducting the multi-day session at the Syrian venue in preparation for the final leg of the championship, which begins at Oschersleben on 15 September.

Audi driver Mike Rockenfeller currently leads the championship by 35 points over a couple of young Mercedes chargers but, while he and former series champion Mattias Ekstr?m will conduct the bulk of the running in Austria, Audi Sport is keen to offer others the chance to test the RS5

As a result, former F1 driver and GP2 Series runner-up di Grassi will get his first taste of a DTM car, having been drafted into Audi's sportscar fold at the end of his grand prix career in mid-2012. The Brazilian clinched a podium position on his Le Mans debut in the Audi R18 e-tron quattro in June 2013, but has raced only sparingly this season as he also focuses on his development role with Pirelli.

M?ller has already impressed Audi at the wheel of on of its A4 DTM cars, having taken part in a driver evaluation test in the spring of last year, but ended up continuing his single-seater career in the World Series by Renault. Now, with a Monaco race win under his belt, the 21-year old Swiss ace gets the opportunity to drive a current DTM racer for the first time.

"We are intrigued to see just how Nico and Lucas get to grips with our RS5 DTM," admitted Dieter Gass, head of DTM at Audi Sport, "Nico is a promising young driver whose career we have followed with great interest for some years now, while Lucas has impressed our sportscar team with his speed and knowledgeable technical feedback, which is why he is regarded as excellent test driver."
