Green pleased with maiden Audi rostrum

Jamie Green: Standing on the podium is always fantastic – after all, that's why we're here. This sparks enthusiasm for more.
Jamie Green says his maiden Audi rostrum, picked up at Oschersleben, is an important milestone as the Brit continues to gel within his new team.

Green enjoyed his strongest weekend to date in Audi colours after starting the race from pole-position before finishing a strong third behind Augusto Farfus and championship favourite Mike Rockenfeller.

“Standing on the podium is always fantastic – after all, that's why we're here,” said Green.

“In working together with Audi, this is a bit of a milestone for me and an important stage win on the road to my next aim. And that's achieving the first victory for Audi.”

Since leaving Mercedes over the winter Green now believes he has 'really gelled' with his new ABT team, something he says has taken a little more given the series now operates on a two- day race weekend.

“My RS 5 DTM, my race engineer, the entire squad and I have by now really gelled,” said the ABT-driver.

“As we've only got two days per race it simply takes time for that to happen. Oschersleben was a good example of a smooth weekend.

"We had a good qualifying session and a good speed in the race as well. This sparks enthusiasm for more.”
