The DTM pack will have two opportunities to draw closer to defending champion Mike Rockenfeller as the series confirms the Hockenheimring and Hungaroring as venues for pre-season testing.
Rockenfeller took his maiden title at the wheel of the Audi R5 DTM and remains with that vehicle this season while Mercedes also stick with their C-Coupe challenger.
BMW, on the other hand, will defend their manufacturers' crown with an all new M4 DTM machine as the current title holders look to clinch a third straight constructors championship since their comeback in 2012.
The Hungaroring, absent from the DTM calendar for over 26-years, will stage the first of the now traditional ITR double-header test from March 31st to April 3rd before the series returns to Budapest on June 1st in race trim for the third round of the championship.
Hockenheim will round off the testing period from April 14th – 17th two weeks before the DTM circus returns to the iconic German circuit for the season opener on May 4th.
