Audi has unveiled its new RS 5 DTM machine, tasked with the mission of retaining both the teams and drivers championship in 2014.
Unmasked earlier today at the Geneva Motor Show, the 2014 spec RS 5 DTM boasted a new 'aggressive' aerodynamic package as Audi say the 2013 title winning car has undergone a near complete rework despite tight regulations.
“In addition to suspension, our main priority was to improve the aero,” says Audi's head of vehicle design Stefan Aicher.
“The DTM rules are strict, which is why every minute detail work is required within the tight limitations.
“For example, we made suspension modifications to the front and rear axles, from which we expect improvements."
Defending champion Mike Rockenfeller will get the chance to sample his new challenger at Budapest's Hungaroring on March 31st as Audi will roll the car out at the first of the two official tests.
The season begins proper at Hockenheim on May 4th.
