BMW has revealed the first of eight partner-inspired livery designs it will campaign on its brand-new M4 machine in the 2014 DTM series.
Unveiling four of the eight cars it will prepare in 2014, American racer Joey Hand will transfer over to the Crowne Plaza-sponsored BMW vacated by USCC-bound Andy Priaulx, while former champion Bruno Spengler will spend a third year behind the wheel of the all-black BMW Bank M4.
In addition, former champion Martin Tomczyk will continue to drive the iconic white, blue and red livery associated with BMW as part of its M Performance Parts division, while former F1 driver Timo Glock will campaign the distinctive yellow design of its Deutsche Post-backed M4.
“Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts and I have been very good partners since my time with BMW Team RLL in North America,” RBM driver Hand said. “I really like the BMW M4 DTM in this new design. It looks quick, and my experience tells me that cars that look quick are quick.”
The 2014 designs of the remaining four BMW M4 DTMs, to be driven by Augusto Farfus, Marco Wittmann and newcomers António Félix da Costa and Maxime Martin (BE), will be unveiled for the first time at the official ITR tests in Budapest at the end of the month.
