Audi has dominated the first DTM test of the 2014 season as its cars filled the top four positions during an official ITR outing at the Hungaroring.

Though only 11 cars were present at the Hungarian circuit (four Audis, four BMWs and three Mercedes), and the first day was curtailed by problems with the track surface, it was the Ingolstadt marque that came out of the blocks quickest with Spaniard Miguel Molina leading the way in his RS5.

His lap time of 1min 37.792secs was comfortably half a second up on stablemate Jamie Green, while Adrien Tambay and reigning champion Mike Rockenfeller completed the top four positions.

Behind them, BMWs filled the next four positions with Bruno Spengler leading the charge in the new M4, ahead of DTM newcomers Maxime Martin and Antonio Felix da Costa, while Joey Hand followed them in eighth.

Rounding out the final three positions was Mercedes trio Paul di Resta - the former champion getting reacquainted with DTM machinery after three years in F1 -, Gary Paffett and another F1 exile Vitaly Petrov.
