BMW's Marco Wittmann believes the momentum is on his side heading to Oschersleben following his maiden DTM success last time out.

Wittmann conjured a majestic performance a fortnight ago at Hockenheim which handed the young German his ever DTM victory in dominant fashion.

The 24-year old spent most of the race on his own as the chasing pack all fought for the right strategy in a vein attempt to catch the RMG-man.

Moving onto Oschersleben, Wittmann says finding the right set-up will prove to be a vital factor this weekend as the BMW man brings forward his performance ballast from his Hockenheim victory.

Oschersleben will be the first opportunity where we see the introduction of performance generated success ballast take an effect on the DTM field.

"The Motorsport Arena is a circuit with a lot of corners. For this reason, we need the car to generate a lot of downforce to set fast times," said Wittmann.

"However, I travel to the second round in Oschersleben with confidence and a lot of momentum on the back of my maiden DTM win at the season-opener in Hockenheim.

"It is important to find the perfect set-up for qualifying and the race. The set-up is particularly important this time, as we must now carry performance weights after the successful result in Hockenheim. With this in mind, it is difficult to make any predictions for the race."
