Despite being one of the most experienced racers on the DTM grid, Paul di Resta will be heading to the Austrian round of the 2014 season at the Red Bull Ring for the first time.
The former champion, who returns to DTM this season following his stint in Formula 1, never got the chance to race at the Spielberg track when it was re-introduced to the schedule after he left the series.
As such, di Resta is looking forward to tackling it for the first time and improve on what has been a frustrating season for both himself and his Mercedes team-mates so far this year.
“I'm racing for the first time this weekend in Spielberg. I've first got to familiarise myself with the track as was the case in the last race in Moscow, which I'm looking forward to doing. The track is very much an 'old school' circuit.
“Achieving a high level of efficiency counts for a lot in view of the long straights and hard braking zones, but we're travelling to Spielberg with an open mind and will wait and see how we perform in practice. Our goal is to continue to work hard, do our best and learn as much as possible.”
Di Resta has finished inside the points just once this season, with a fourth place at Oschersleben.
