DTM has announced it will revert to a two-race format in 2015, with nine rounds comprising an 18-race calendar.

Next season will be the first time since 2002 that DTM has run two races per weekend, with one set for Saturday and another for Sunday. Explaining that fan feedback played a part in the move, ITR chairman Hans Werner Aufrecht said the final details were still to be confirmed.

"We know that many DTM enthusiasts were keen on two races per weekend as every additional race minute promises additional excitement and action," Aufrecht said. "Now we responded to this desire and we are going to fix the details in the coming weeks."
